On the phone for 1.5hours. I was transferred 3 times.
The first girl was a total moron. She offered me City Fido + Caller ID for $51.25 after tax. (City Fido + CID should be around $47 after tax)

Key parts of the conversation:
- Mentioned Telus has plan with better value (I want data too.)
- Asked why they aren't willing to offer decent plan to retain a customer
- Stated that the plan they offered was far from competitive (which was later repeated back to me from another agent).
- Asked if there was someone who I can talk to who can offer me a more competitive plan. (First girl flat out said no, the $51.25 City Fido was the best that they could give me.)
- Insisted to talk to supervisor (Then supervisor caught up to my situation)
- Transferred me once more (to whom I believe is in the retention department but I can't confirm)
- Got the plan I wanted

There's a 2gb data? How much is that?

The Fido agent explained to me (but I'm not sure if I fully understood), that the 2gb data is 2 year term that you sign WITHOUT a phone. If you sign a contract with a phone, then your options are only 500mb and 6gb.

To my understanding, the 2gb was $25 with a $10 discount(so it's $15)

I've been with Fido for 2 years now. I currently have no data on my 25 dollar plan. Do you guys think it's possible to add data to the plan without making it more expensive as part of the retention? Or is that completely impossible?

All data plans (combined with a voice plan) with Bellus MUST BE > $50.00

I think the cheapest I've seen for a Fido data plan was around low $40's.
Even then, it was somewhat of a rare sight.

So is it possible to get free CID, if I upgrade my plan with data? Can I mention me not being in retention yet to make that happen?

they dont really give free cid anymore,
but you could get the basic cid/vm
which is only 5 dorra

pick up your phone and dial 611. you wont know until you try.

I have a 3 year contract that I got with an iPhone 4 back in Sept 2010. When will I be elegible for a HUP? Is it 1 year or 6 months?

i should give fido a call soon, basically after 6months of contract you can call and tell them to upgrade your data because youre going over.
buddy got upgraded to 2gig for no extra cost

you actually can get 2GB just for 25 dollars... That explains why it doesn't cost extra...
Although you can't get it if you are on 3 years contract.

indeed, that makes getting smart phones impossible with the 2GB data bcuz you need to sign 3 year contract for smart phones. 2GB data is (i guess) aimed at ppl who brings their own smartphone to fido.
