i've spoken to three different reps. so far

1. said i couldn't renew anything until my credits expired. when they do, i would be able to renew all my existing credits then
2. called back when credits expired, then was told that's no longer the case because "policy" changed and would only offer a $10 credit
3. called back again and same thing, policy changed, can't renew those credits. asked to be transferred to retention and she replied back saying she was retention

should i keep on trying or take the latest plan offered to me? i don't really need all these extra features.. i was quite pleased with my plan before and the pricing.. but they won't renew it for me

thats pretty basic for bells plan or rogers.

Might as well switch and get a better phone

Looking to get a cheap data plan for my dad. Think I can get something like 200 minutes, caller ID, text messaging and maybe 100-250MB of data for $25-30?

If I were just going to add him to my plan (and keep his number), how would that work?

it is possible to port your dads number to your account. but that would b considered a new account and u wont b able to get good plans....even what u r looking for is a stretch. i think 35 would b minimum for those features.

It was a huge headache talking with fido to port with rogers but I learned quite a bit.
Its the name on the account that matters, not the line.

but if you should do anything like renegotiate plans, do it before you move it anywhere.

You can save a lot of money by getting rid of that old city fido plan and changing to a new one.

It'll be $5-$10 cheaper just by switching over the plan, plus you won't be paying extra for any text messages. When you break it down, it's beneficial to get rid of that old city fido and change to the new one. Plus, it's more flexible.

it seems i have hit a brick wall. took me three calls to get this because the first time i called, i am currently on a month to month (contract expired) and the rep only offered me -$5 credit, and basically implied that i may think that its nothing but to Fido it is a lot (her exact words). i tried very hard to stay calm and told her i would think about it. did she not understand i was out of contract and could basically say F off fido and walk away scot free? anyways the next two reps were much nicer and offered me 50 bonus mins and we worked out a better deal which included VVM. i really needed that because without it, my plan would've been $56, but i have had enough of regular VM because i got so sick of

I just negotiated exact same thing with a 5 doller credit, I didnt even need to go retentions.

Did you already have those credits in place? I am trying to get it under 60 but very difficult because Fido's retail plans are already cheaper than the competition -.-

I have the same plan for $52 without visual voicemail.

Why? Because my voicemail message says: "Hi, you've reached Ed. Please do not leave a message because I will not check my voicemail. Either text me or I'll call you back as soon as possible."

Just do that. Voicemail is awful. It feels as ancient like people that insist on using Windows XP.

I doubt they have any monthly plans with ~50minutes. Anything at appx. 100/150 minutes?
