I got the same call from Fido today for the offer. But I stuck with my existing plan because 250mb data is not really enough, and tethering wouldn't work.

I did not have data before and I actually had city fido unlimited calling + caller id which ended up costing me 48 about after taxes n fees. I gave up the unlimited calling since I just don't put it to use. In all I'm happier now, but wish it couldve been atleast 500mb. Guess ill make do

That depends... how long have you been with Fido/Rogers for? I have seen better but that's cause people have different experiences with them. I personally been through a lot with them to get the plan I have now... and Mobilicitys plans are WAY better still.

Has anyone used wind's $29 promotion as leverage? If you did, what were you offered? I want to sign for two years with a plan that is $30 or less and get a gnex using wind as leverage so i want to see your guys' experiences.

Exact same plan + VM for $52.50 plus tax.

This was negotiated back in August 2010 when the Iphone 4 first came out. It's acceptable providing that they give you a subsidized phone. Remember to use your Fido Dollars!

goddam csr put a note on my account saying to not give me any further credits. I know this because the last time i called, the lady told me that some guy put that on my account and she gave me some extra stuff anyways (although it wasnt enough so i didnt sign). I could tell that that guy was in a bad mood so i ended it quickly but can't believe he still put that on my account... You guys think i can lower my offer any further? Current offer is the all-in-one $40 plan with $5 credit, 50 additional minutes, waived HUP fee. If i drop a few things from the plan (video messaging, canada-wide calling), will they agree to lower the price?

I assume that the $50 you pay does not include the system access fee or the rogers system access fee plus taxes?

You'll have to understand that the retention team can only with with whatever they see in front of their screen. You won't be able to remove a certain feature without affecting something else as they are package related.

If you look, the break down goes like this:

Base Plan: (unable to modify, must be required with every phone)
  • Amount of minutes for the day
  • Unlimited evenings and weekends starting at X time

Add-On Features:
  • Some free call/text package where you can connect with 5 people for free
  • 2500 Text with VoiceMail
  • Unlimited Text with VoiceMail
  • Unlimited incoming calls
  • 100 mins or more of long distance across Canada
  • 100 mins long distance to Canada and the USA
  • US Data and Voice Roaming
  • Ringtones/Ringbacks/urMusic
and more...

Data:
  • 1-10GBs of data access for Android/iPhone/Windows
  • Unlimited data for BB devices

The only movement you have is really is to get them to give you credits. To my knowledge they'll be able to credit you anywhere from 50%-100% of the cost of the add-on's based on your tenure and what you contributed to the company your with.

To get beyond that will require a supervisor and generally at that point they will call you back as it goes well above the CSR's paygrade. If you screwed up with the CSR or get blacklisted, there isn't much you can do about it unless it was placed their accidentally.

You cannot drop video message or canada wide calling because those features are incorporated in the plan itself. Its not an add-on that can be removed anytime.

The only choice you have is to ask nicely for more credits. Some people claim to have gotten $10 off that plan, for a total of $30 + tax. I easily negotiated a $10 credit last time on a voice and text plan, no data. So you should be able to get $10 off that plan.......I don't think you can go any lower than $30 for that plan anyways.

I am really trying to get it for $30, but they don't seem to be budging, and i think it would be especially hard now since that fucker put that note on my account saying no more credits other than $5 lol

But I'm going to try using the $29 promotion from wind as leverage and hope they budge. How did you negotiate btw? Did you threaten to cancel, or just say your paying too much? Did you use other carrier's plans as leverage and di you just straight out ask for more credits or did you do it in a more roundabout way like asking them to match a competitor's plan?

Update: All-in-one promotion is gone. "best she could do" was $39 (i think it was $39, or $44) with 1gb of data and a bunch of features taken out (CID, VM, picture messaging). First she offered me $51 with only 1gb of data wtf and have to sign three years for a gnex. Seriously considering wind now, i was on the fence when i was offered $35 allinone...

fucking ridiculous. was told i would have a 5 dollar credit with my $40 all in one plan. signed up, month later i get my bill today, with no mention of a $5 discount says there's no record of me calling, only a record of me agreeing to the contract of $40. what the fuck? the only thing I could think of is my line was under my moms name, and at the same time of the contract i moved under my own line (same number). He said he could not look at any history and there's nothing he could do. Is there anything I can do?

^ everytime you call rogers before hanging up get a reference number , agent name , agent code and write shit down. use that afterwards. learned it from Fido wayyy back in the day
