Does anyone have a talk only plan? I used to have the $17.50 plan but they no longer offer it..they were kind enough to give a free phone bak then as well .. Now they are saying $25 is the lowest they'll go and no phone... I know i'm cheap but anyone get a free phone (non-flop ones) on the cheapest plan? |

To get a smartphone you are required to have a plan that has data regardless if it's a new plan or an old one. I believe I will get to keep this plan but my credits may expire which I will call in and ask for some more if possible. If not, it just really depends what I want to do with my plan. In the end it's still worth a whole lot more than what you can get now a days. |
My dad's Fido contract expires next month and he asked me for advice. I said I have no idea haha. I'm afraid he'll call Fido and the rep will try to sell him on a "good" deal and he'll say yes because he's not too knowledgable about this stuff. Right now he has a iphone 4s and wants to upgrade to iphone 6. I have $350 fido bucks saved up over the years that I can give him. Other than that, what should he negotiate for? He's definitely not a heavy user. Here's his current plan: 200 mins + unlimited evenings/weekends plus unlimited incoming calls Unlimited text msgs 500 MB iphone data Voicemail Who Called Unlimited Canadian Long Distance (+ $12/mo) All of the above for $62/month before tax Any ideas on kind of advice should I give him? |
Before any retention talk Go take a look at Fido Smart Plan. Seem like most of the current plans are better than his. |
Do I have this right? (Sorry for the noob questions, my work has supplied/paid my phone for many years and it's been a long time since I've looked into personal cell phone plans) 16GB iphone6 for $265 with 2-year MAX plan 24 months @ $80/month = $1920 Phone = $265 Less $265 Fido Dollars So total cost over 2 years = $1920 OR 16GB iphone6 for $749 with 2-year standard plan 24 months @ $45/month = $1080 Phone = $749 Less $350 Fido Dollars So total cost over 2 years = $1479 So he's better off going with option B. Am I missing something? |
You can't apply Fido Dollars toward monthly plan payments. Only Hardware upgrade & add-on functions :troll: Therefore, you are left with Option A |

In Option A, the phone would essentially be free (after Fido Dollars) and i'm left with the monthly payments over 2 years = $1920 In Option B, the phone would be $749 - $350 Fido Dollars = $399 plus monthly payments over 2 years = $1479 |
Spoke with retentions today. It turns out that my original $55 just turned into $62 per month because one of my credits expired. I was offered: 250 daytime mins unlimited weekends/evenings @ 5pm 6gb call display canada wide fido to fido unlimted text $65 before tax for a fully subsidized iphone 6 |

I'd probably take that deal. For an extra $3 per month, you get a fully subsidized iPhone 6. |

I need to renew my contract with Fido, looking at a subsidized iphone 6 ($265). Not looking to pay $80/month, more towards $50-65. Need something like 200 mins caller id/vm early evening/weekends text messages fido to fido at least 1GB data |
I just switched to Fido from kodoo... I got the SK/MB deal with BC local # $ 55 Standard Plan Unlimited incoming and outgoing calls Unlimited Canada-wide long distance Unlimited text, picture and video messages from Canada to Canadian, U.S. and international wireless numbers 5 GB of Data Call Display Voicemail Unlimited Circle Calling Call Waiting Conference Call Lets see how long til fido catches on and removes my plan.. lol... |
How did you manage to keep local number? That is a good deal. When my municipal plan is up, Rogers is making ppl sign up for more expensive version if you want iPhone subsidized. I would rather switch to the plan you are on. |
@FerrariEnzo; how did you negotiate that deal? |

fair enough, but i was reading how other ppl got the $65 plan with an Iphone 6/Plus so that's why I tried I'm just gonna go with the employer x Rogers plan and lose the fidodollars. still worth the switch. |

a lot of people aren't taking the max plans they're offering (typically $80 1gb, $90 4gb) and choosing to use fido dollars on a BYOD plan without contract (i.e. $44.10 750mb, $54 1GB) |
I've returned to Canada and looking for data only without a contract. Just IM apps and such when mobile, using wifi at home. Is the Fido $10 150MB LTE Mobile Hotspot flex plan the best for me? Is there anything out there cheaper? Or something slightly more expensive that has more data? (Fido flex plan jumps to $25 if 1GB is used). |
has anyone negotiated a good deal lately? contract expired, the CSR told me to wait for holiday offers |
