So who here still watches Chuck? I'm still a faithful follower, even though the show is on it's last couple episodes. I'll admit that it got a little far fetched over the past season and it's probably a good thing that it's ending, but I'm gonna miss it.
Just finished watching the final two episodes. Here are my thoughts on the series finale. If you haven't seen 'em yet, do NOT click on the spoiler.
Spoiler!
So they decided to go with a Soprano's style ending, eh? I actually liked that as it gives you the ability to use your imagination as to what happened once the credits start rolling. Personally I like to think that it worked, but that's just my little sappy side coming out.
Although I originally didn't like how Sarah lost her memory from the past five years, in the end I think it worked. It was a good way to reintroduce old characters and gave a good excuse to showcase some flashbacks (porn virus, Weinermeister, etc., etc).
I'm sad that this series is over now. Sure, it wasn't the greatest show out there and it became a little over the top with certain aspects, but I enjoyed it, dammit. Apparently Zach, the guy who played Chuck, is in talks with doing something with this series at some point down the road. I'd love to see something, even if it's just a web-based movie, to show us what happens in, say, five years time. Not sure if this will ever happen, but I hope it does.
Oh, and to touch on the ending again, I like how the show ended the same way it started... with Chuck asking Sarah to trust him, much like how she asked the same of him in the first episode. One of the things I really enjoyed about this show is that despite it being full of corny jokes and not taking itself too seriously, it occasionally had genuinely heart touching moments (like in the episode where Sarah is poisoned in France and Chuck is forced to kill someone for the first time in order to save her). Those were moments when you actually felt like you cared for the main characters and not just watching to see what zany, hair brained scheme came up next. And I'm glad the series ended on one of these such moments.
Two last things:
-Loved the cloaking device and Morgan
and
I dont even know what you see in this show, watch a real spy show like Nikita or Burn notice.
I grew up watching the original Get Smart on TV, so that's probably why I like this show. Chuck had a good mixture of spy stuff, nerd references, humour and feel good moments. However, I also grew up watching the old James Bond movies, so I have a perfectly healthy appetite for proper spy shows/movies as well.
Nikita and Burn Notice =/= Chuck. They're two completely different genres.
