Still only 5 registered drivers. Easy prize money for those who show up. Not much competition..

Pretty hurtin drift scene if ya ask me. I realize its hard for Vancouver guys to make it out. But if it was too easy it wouldn't be a competition..

So no ones gunna step it up?

The Switch - Just was looking at your site and vids/pics. Sorry to hear that it is such a low turnout right now. I know that there is more that 5 drifters in vic/vancity. Are all 5 drivers from Victoria?

I have been itching to start drifting on the track. Only ever went on the streets and that resulted in multiple licence suspension, crashed cars, loss of excess amounts of money... etc. Anywho I am at a point now where I can have a weekend only drifter or possibly track only car (Not loaded or anything just have a truck and finances secure) so ive been looking to build and start.

Seems like you have a good organization and I would be willing to join when I have a car done, but I dont want to have a car and have no where to go. Thats how i always get in trouble. Then I saw this, but saw that your thinking about cancelling cus of low turnout. I know for a fact that their is way more than 5 willing drifters out there. Mainland drifters are probaly hesitant that they have to take a ferrry. I am, plus the added cost its like $160!

This is just an idea, what if you used the prize money to help with ferry cost. Just to get a turn out. $300 bones isnt going to get 10 drifters over, but it would cover 25%? I do not know if this will actually help. Or maybe use the 300 bucks to help drivers who crash and can not run, get there cars back home? Just untill you get more support? I dunno? Is this posted on all the local car sites? Including mustangs?

What about the day? Fridays for mainlanders means they would have to take a day off work. That might have something to do with it. I would like to come check it out but I dont know if I can get the day off.

I dont want you to think that i am "Judging" or think that you dont already know all this stuff. I am just trying to help and throwing some suggestions. I love drifting. Everything about it. Hope that a few more ppl show up and make it worth while. You have already gone this far, dont quit now.

GL,

The only thing we thought about canceling was the prize events. It seems as if some drifters are uninterested in competing in front of a large group of spectators and would rather go back to spectator free practice days.

Capital drift will continue holding track days regardless, its weather or not the drifters community would like to participate in judged competitions with rankings.
