| Subaru Enthusiast please help: where is a good subaru shop in Lower Mainland?
I am about to buy a used 2004 subaru forester XS , 2.5 NON turbo engine , 5 speed manual
it has high mileage,
now I would like a quote from a car shop
how much would it be to rebuilt the engine / buy used engine and swap it in?
any subaru enthusiast here can tell me where to go for this type of service that would be great.
Thanks
also is there a local subaru forum? Nasioc does not seem to have a local division...

rocket rally is nice but pricey
its not hard to find a forester engine you can even swap an STI engine in

bump for new infos? "where is a good shop for subarus in GVRD?"
what we have learned from this thread, rocket rally is good(even better being a north van person myself) but is thought of as being expensive.
there is a ronald on this forum who deals with subs, anyone else have any idea of where to take a subaru in vancouver?

Rocket Rally is expensive because your getting experience through Patrick Richard. In case you don't know who he is, he's a Canadian National Rally car champion. I'm not sure exactly how much work he does, but he does work on customer's cars. He's very informative and he definitely knows what he's talking about. If your gonna be doing any engine work, as in mods, tuning, whatever, he's the guy to go to. But if your looking to drop in another 2.5L NON-turbo engine, honestly, most mechanic shops/dealership can do it for you.

That's good for the OP's original question, and to elaborate, I personally am interested in finding a shop in teh GVRD that is competant with FI on subarus more specifically the ins and outs of STi's.
thx in advance

thx in advance | Depending on what your looking to do. If your thinking of upgrades + tuning, I would only suggest Rocket Rally like some previous posts. However, if your simply looking to avoid the costly dealership maintenance, there are some local Subaru mechanics on VIC of NASIOC that can help you out.

Don't cheap out and bring your car to another place just because you save a few pennies. Go to RR and do it right the first time and save yourself the headaches.
