If anyone wants.

I will gladly do tune ups in the vancouver area.

I have a full kit of gear for hot waxes, files for edging and beveling, ptex for base fill ins, and base patching for those "core shots"

I figure i might as well utilize my skills this year since i have lingering injuries that won't allow me to ride 6 days out of a 7 day week.

Shred_Head 12-15-2008 04:21 PM

hey vangruver you can tune me up any time ;)

PS bonus point if you are close to kits [16th and macdonald] or granville island.

How busy do you think Cypress would be tomorrow night, since it's opening night.

As busy as it would normally be on a weekend evening.

Keep in mind also that it's still close to xmas, that usually deters people from playing in the evening when there are events to organize, and parties to attend.

CKNW Breaking News...

Excaliber Gondola tower collapses at ski resort in Whistler, trapping passengers inside two gondolas on the mountain.

Is it safe to say that snowboard movies of today is not the same as snowboard movies from before.

Say like: Technical Difficulties, True Life and etc. vs....... Whatever crap that passes as a snowboard movies nowadays.

I can't point a finger to it why the snowboarding flicks of today doesn't hype me up as much as the older ones. And I can appreciate that flicks of today have progressed light years in production, quality and content but something just feels missing. Anyone else feel the same?

edit:

Maybe I was just young and easily amused.

Vangruver 12-16-2008 04:19 PM

I think you're on your own.

To me, a snowboard film gets me stoked when i see tricks that I can do done at a hill I've never been before.

now a days because of the technicality of tricks, and the amount of time's someone goes upside down, it's boring. Only because they are done at places I can't afford to even think of going, and they are built on stuff far too massive for even the average riders to do.

What really gets me amped is a train of riders doing the same tricks on park and runs that look fun.

Fun is high on my priority list.

snow was great today at cypress. Started to get foggy around 330. There was barley anyone up there.

incubus 12-17-2008 09:21 PM

don't think it's dumb, i think it's about effing time.

Quebec made it against the law to drive anywhere public without snow tires.

Yes, i know we aren't as extreme in regards to weather, but when you are traveling a highway like the sea to sky, any fxck up could cause massive injuries and or death.

the sea to sky is rated #3 most treacherous mountain roadways. More often you'll see idiots wanting to kill it on the first chair up hammering down the highway. And chances are they are driving a sh!t box honda civic piled to the max with people and gear with no proper traction for the roads.

incubus 12-18-2008 02:47 PM

makes sense i guess

you are a wise man lol

daggon 12-22-2008 08:12 AM

chains will generally suffice, but you are limited to speed with chains.

I'd check with the department of highways for squamish and whistler

Shred_Head 12-23-2008 04:58 PM

i'll be up at Cypress first thing tomorrow morning

K-Dub 12-25-2008 06:55 PM

whistler today.
lots of bare spots still. more bare then the local north shore mountains i bet.

RRxtar 12-26-2008 04:26 PM

started fiddling around with my foot positions in the last few trips up. i was having problems with being too front weighted and having a really floaty tail so widened my stance and moved it back and i seem to have a whole bunch more control now. i basically left the setup where it was when i first started riding in 06/07 and i cant believe i havent made adjustments earlier.

Noir 12-26-2008 06:57 PM

Sweet! I'm fairly new to the 32 line of products but am enjoying my brand new 32 Lashed boots. This model has been around for years but I finally got around to getting a pair and damn they feel good for an all around rider (freeride/freestyle).

incubus 12-26-2008 11:59 PM

yeah love 32 products

rnt they local?

damn. when i went shopping for boots a few weeks back i was in love with the Lashed, but they didn't have my size. But I ended up with Rome Libertine's in black. Not a bad boot either, really lightweight and stiff enough in the spots you need them stiff in. More of a park boot than a freeriding boot but I still use it for all mountain. Really good ankle support in both directions!
