What is the best windshield wiper? I'm currently using Bosch Icon's on my car, and its very good. No streaks and best of all no noise. I've tried the reflex ones from canadian tire. They are absolutely crap. chatters constantly and does not wipe good at all. |
make sure you clean your windshield properly too. steel wool + cleaning agent. PIAA's worked well for me in the past, but i dont think i can justify spending that much on wipers. im on MTECs now, does the job, i guess. |
I used to have CT's Reflex, but since last year they're absolutely crap. Try the Rain-X brand because it's been working great for me. I've been using them for just over a year now and I haven't found an excuse to replace the current pair. |
tried the refills, they work for a good month. tried the CT reflex's, worked good for a year. after doing a bunch of research, it was either the michelin wipers, or bosch icons. the bosch icons seem to work well right now, not streaking and solid, but even with discount, ur looking at 35-40 each (depending on the size u need) |
Michelin wipers are working nice for me now. Only been on for a few weeks now though, but for $9/wiper, can't complain. |
Piaa Ftw !!!! |
I use PIAA's. You don't need to buy the blades, as the refills fit your OEM blades. They are like $12ea at Lordco. |

i've been impressed with the crappy tire reflex wipers (don't get the ones with wet tec crap, apparently its garbage) |

how do you exactly use steel wool to clean your windshield, wouldn't steel wool be a bit rough on the windshield? |

it is gentle enough not to scratch your w/shield glass, but abrasive enough to take off all the caked on/dried out dirt/oil on your windshield (which you normally can't see unless the windshield is wet) Where does oil come from? the road, cars with oil leaks, etc etc |
its sounds like using steel wool on your windshield is like using a clay bar on your paint |
I just bought the Rain-x Latitude wipers. So far they seem ok.. It sort of misses a section on the downwipe but i'm hoping that they are just getting broken in. I dunno? |
anyone using the silicone wipers thats always on tv now for sale at canadian tire? are they any good? |
Bosch Icon. Hands down. All I'll ever use |
icons are good if you don't mind the looks , piaa silicone are better and last longer too |
anyone use bosch evolution wipers? |
bosche for me |
These rain-x ones are horrible as soon as you go over 70km/h. They miss an entire section when coming on the downwipe because air gets between. Its literally a 6x6" space where the right and left wiper overlap eachother. What the helll... |
I find that it doesn't really matter how much you spend on wipers, they tend to work or not work depending on the specific vehicle. I'm using some cheapy $10 ones and they work well (to my standards). I apply rain-x only when I'm not lazy. I've tried more expensive Bosch and they still streak and miss spots. They're a wear and tear item, so if I were you'd, I'd find a decent compromise between price and brand name. Replace them once a year or something and everything should be dandy. With all that being said, I don't see why no one has mentioned OEM? I find those work very well. Don't any of you remember driving off the lot and how well the OEM wipers work? |
I’ve never owned a set of PIAAs, but did a rainy cross WA state trip with a business associate, and those things were freaking awesome. Next set I get, trying out some PIAAs |
I have to second bosch wiper. I am not sure which model I have, but it is very very good |
The canadian tire reflex jitter and done work good at all. They are too flimsy. The reflex at lordco are decent but fall apart (end caps) I'Use lordco's |
Valeo ULTIMATE.... :) |
