1. I believe there's a "God", but we'll never be able to fully understand Him. By say that we understand God means we'r God ourselves, which is fundamentally wrong.
2. Thinking that you can understand God through a single religion is flawed as well because any religion is merely a human interpretation of what we think God is. Since Point 1 is wrong, Point 2 also won't hold.
I believe there's a God, but it's not in the form that we believe he's in. He's neither a being, a force, or anything for that matter. He is everything. In fact, he's greater than "everything" since by saying that he is everything, we'r putting a limit on how great he can be. Therefore, by definition Hell cannot exist because everything is in God, so "Hell" is in God as well. But Heaven is defined as being in the presence of God, so Hell and God are mutually exclusive.
But I'm merely a mortal, what do I know?

I believe in evolution but sometimes I wonder if there's a higher species out there. For all we know, we could be put here by aliens a long time ago... 16 million years the dinosaurs have been around and they couldn't evolve beyond their walnut sized brains... yet primates can go to the moon in like 10,000 years? Something's up..

If god exists, I believe we should all be immortal...Seeing as he has the power to come back from the dead. Why shouldn't be never die? Death is pretty pointless.

edit: I did get my time periods wrong tho, dinosaurs were around a lot longer than 16 million years.

^^ Then why believe at all? Gods come and go like tv shows. They are made up by man, and used by man for his bidding.
What has god accomplished, if anything, that man hasn't with science.
We can replicate the beginnings of life in a test tube using the same theorized condition of the earth from 4 billion years ago. I think that is amazing.

I view any "God" as simply the engine behind existance. In fact, "God" is probably all life in the universe, as without life to observe the universe, the universe would not have a point to exist.
Much like nature, where we find that certain life cannot live without other certain life, perhaps we can look at the universe and the hidden mechanics behind existance the same way. Nothing would exist without someone to observe it, and life is just one short series of brief blips of consciousness, meant to be enjoyed as much as possible before you fizzle out.
It's beyond our comprehension at this time, and instead we will in things we don't understand with "god" and blah blah blah, and it usually ends up with division between human beings, violence, and mass murder in the name of God, Allah, JibbaJabba, or whatever.
Brainwashed sheep. | Why do you give humanity so much credit? As if we would all of sudden stop the division and violence that plagues us to this day if religion were to not exist.
If religion were not the problem, it would have been race. If we were all the same race it would have been war and turmoil between blond's and brunettes
and redheads.
We fail because we're human and we will always find a little difference and fight over it. It's who we are.
Remember how in preschool kids pick on that one kid because he's smarter than them and they call him a nerd? Religion isn't the cause of all our problems, it's us.

Another very good movie is Zeitgeist. The first 15 minutes or so discuss the origins just about every religion on the face of the earth, and they are all plagerized from one another.
For example.... Pretty much all gods - including jesus, are human representations of the "Sun God".
The 3 kings, they are the 3 stars of orions belt.
The star in the east is Sirius
The 12 deciples are the 12 zodiacs which the sun passes through.
And on december 25th, the sun, sirius, and the 3 kings all line up at sun RISE
"
This is the day of the birth of The sun god. But this happens every year... so why on the year of "0 AD" ? Because it was the begining of the new "Age" of Pieces. Next is aquarius. The bible misinterpretes these transitions as not the end of Aeons or Ages, but as the end of the world.
Then he is cruicified... on the day that the sun is near the constellation Crux - which is a perfect resemblance to the christian cross.
At which point he remains dead until he is resurrected 3 days later.. These 3 days represent the shorted period of the year, when the days are no longer getting shorter. After the 3 days, the sun begins to rise again.
... i can go on, but im doing this from memory and it may start to get inaccurate .... just watch Zeitgeist...
Edit: http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ Two parts, watch the first one on the right before the "Addendum" | Dudeeeeeeeeeee thanks for the website, I accidently clicked on the one on the LEFT, but dun matter, its fucking dope.

Knowledge on these kinds of things don't come overnight, but to think that knowledge is unobtainable is just being thickheaded. |
If you're talking about the Bible, it was written by many different people by the same God telling them what to write. So in other words, it was written by God, yet a selective of chosen men were used as "messengers" to phyiscally write it on paper, wood, animal skin, or whatever they used back then. So even if the people thought the earth was flat, it would of been irrelevant since the text weren't coming from them.
I did take account on evolution. We all did, since that's what we all learn in school. But I don't believe in humans evolving from apes.
Perhaps the knowledge wil be obtainable someday...
But that's like wondering when will an ant be smart enough to figure us out.

Faith means you trust in a God that could use evolution, or could just snap his fingers and BOOM! humans appear. Quote:

I see all religion as superstition. Buddhists may claim to be more philosophical but in my humble opinion, it's just another irrational self-contradicting fairy tale.
Hard atheist is my position on the subject matter. I find it easier, more natural, and fulfilling to live my life by reason than by blind faith.

i don't believe in god.
I really want to believe, but all the organized religions are just so stupid and has so much flaws.
No offense, but the monotheisms (christianity, islam, etc) are just so full of shit and non-sense.
Hell, i cant even call christianity a monotheism because of the whole trinity shit.
I just don't buy the bullshit reason that god is the father which is also the son which is also the holy spirit. They are different, but they are the same, so 3 = 1.
so.full.of.shit.
