On hastings towards burnaby the bus was on the right lane but partially into the middle lane due to snow on the right lane..... friggen bus driver is so fucking stupid to do that because i witness so many cars on the left lane that try to merge into the middle lane almost got into an accident multiple times because they cant tell the bus is part way into the middle lane.... fucking bus driver stay in the middle lane.

the amount of close calls i saw in that 10 minutes, i'm sure there would have been real accidents that happen else where because of bullshit like that... and thats not just to bus drivers but to other drivers goddamn...

I hate bus drivers too... I totally understand you...
Maybe we should start a thread all about the shitty bus drivers we have in Vancouver.
I was in Richmond the other day and as most of you know, many of the roads have piled up snow on the side. Not 2 or 3 inches of snow but the actual pile up from the snow plow trucks that's like 2 or 3 feet high. So obviously there's NO LONGER 2 VISIBLE / USABLE LANES!!
I was driving normally, following the traffic + the tire tracks that everyone made.
This fucked up bus driver, driving those shorter buses (C36 or sth), pulls right up to my ass and honks + high-beam me. I had no fukin clue wtf he wants but he kept flashing his high-beams and honking and i can tell that he's like a foot from my rear bumper.
Then i sped up a little and kinda purposely hard braked to scare the shit outta him.
He tail-gated me for like 2 blocks and then we come to a red light. He fucking plows through the fukin snow and squeezes next to me. He opened his window and told me to stay in one lane. WTF??!?@
Now i started to bitch at him.... For the whole red light... non-stop bitchin... man that felt good.... he started to go when the light was still red... just a second or 2 to get a head start and to cut me off. Then he returns to the tire tracks and drove like i did.

I can't read either of those complaints.

But yeah, I have to agree, some bus drivers think they're all hot shit when driving... ever since people are supposed to give way when they signal (which I do), they just drive like they have some insane class of service.

He was obviously tailing you at for a reason. These guys drive for a living, maybe he saw something that you were doing wrong that you didn't realize? Obviously if someone is being a dick and riding your ass, pull over and let him pass. Don't be the immature one and slam on your brakes - you may not only wreck your car, but also hurt the passengers in your car and his or her car.

I don't think Vancouver bus drivers are bad - people just don't respect them on the road and it can get frustrating for them. I will almost always try to let the bus have the right away - remember there are people on the bus who want to get places to. So many people don't and i can imagine how frustrating it is to drive Vancouver roads and deal with the idiots driving on the street.

werd. I don't have a problem yielding to buses but lots of drivers I see abuse that rule to the extreme. Having to yield for a bus doesn't mean slamming on your brakes. As a bus driver you still need to signal and safely turn out not signal and just turn out even though a car is going 60km and a feet from being beside the bus. I've seen bus drivers almost cause and in some cases actually cause accidents because they think their yeild sign means they are the king of the road.

At the same time though, I see some bus drivers try to be nice so they actually signal and wait but when that happens, all the idiots just ignore the signal and keeping passing the bus. Even at a red light, if the bus doesn't inch out, the cars will just keep piling on, effectively blocking the bus in

ya overall most of the bus drivers are good drivers but there are the few as in every profession that thinks they are hot shit and exploit the rules to the max. some drivers will just pull out without looking and i have seen near misses because of it because the driver will pull out while you are going up the side of him and you have to slam on your brakes they even do it on these roads where its very dangerous because of the slippery conditions. i yield for buses all the time but i also get cut off by them sometimes as well. but its never gonna change theres always a few in every profession for example police.
