If you could have any rig(s)... in your garage?

What would it be? Why? Stock? Modified?

I have two... possibly three.

First: A Volvo C303 hard top. I'd leave it pretty much stock in terms of running gear, but I'd exo it, add lighting, and redo the interior to modern Winnebago standard. Go anywhere motorhome, baby!

Second: Land Rover Forward Control. Bone stock, this would definitely be my collectors item.

Third: A shortened MLVW/M35, but retaining all three Rockwell axles and the 6x6 function. It'd be a little longer than a Unimog, but I've always loved them, and with the US M35 turbodiesel, they've got plenty of power. Plus, with custom springs and a cantilevered dual rear axle setup, I could get decent articulation. Plus, I could run 54" Interco's on it... and dwarf EVERYTHING. Oh, and of course, on board air, lockers in all the axles, double up on the tranfer cases, and probably a nice sealed storage system and rack instead of the standard bed. But no exo here; nothing looks better than dings and dents on olive drab.

H1 Beefed up with bigger tires or an International CXT.

Tube Chassis rock crawler.

And for comfort/functionality some sort of SUV that is trail capable. I'm not to picky on that one as long as its functional (not an explorer/jimmy type SUV)

Berz out.

unimog

Hahaha I was waiting for the 'mog to make an appearance. I'm suprised it took that long...

OffroadZuki 01-12-2009 09:54 AM

I'm not even gonna bother with cars...I love way too many...but let's say an R34 Skyline Nismo will make me happy for a while.

A bagged/bodydropped S10

And a mint Lada Niva Cossak. No, I'm not kidding. Nivas were what got me into 4x4'ing and I've always loved them....they've got sooooo much personality haha

That would be a fun cruiser for light offroading, nothing major (parts are hard to come by)...for serious don't-give-a-crap-if-I-blow-a-diff-or-dent-the-doors, I'd get a droptop '97 Zuk 16v, lifted on 35s, etc :)

i've always loved H1s no matter how "too heavy" or "too big" anyone says. and id throw a new duramax in it and run 600hp and 1000 ft-lbs thru it too :D

then an XJ Cherokee with d44s front and a d60 rear with 5.13 gears locked front and rear with an atlas TC. 9" Long arm on 38s. exo'd with a winch, steel fabbed bumpers and a light bar. and a blower.

1983 Z28 01-12-2009 11:48 AM

Hahahaha not much Heep left in that Jeep by the time you're done with it. And the last of the H1's, the H1 "Alpha" actually came factory equipped with the Duramax. I don't know why it took them so long to figure out that people didn't need the 328943829432 pounds of towing capacity that the old American General motor could pull.

B4N M3 01-22-2009 07:59 PM

those don't look like they're good for much else than showing off in parking lots and cruising down Main Street while towing your SkiDoos

RRxtar 01-23-2009 11:10 AM

^the GMC/Chevy 5500s actually make great work trucks with a work bed and not a poser truck box. 19,500 GVW with over 6ton payload, PTO, and curb to curb turning radius similar to a honda civic (out turns the Ford by 19 feet!!!)
