Doesn't the GPA cut-off depends on what program you're applying for?

He's a good professor, but is too meticulous on his marking and is too textbook oriented. I heard the other profs rely solely on lecture notes, so look into that. http://students.sfu.ca/admission/req...nts/index.html
click on admission averages. You can always go into arts and then try to transfer to compsci as the GPA dropped to 2.7.

I had Kevin James last sem. He's really into the textbook and powerpoints. I think he's a really good prof but is a hard marker.

If anyone is going to take CSIS2500, don't take it with Roy Sinn. He doesn't even teach and hardly gave out enough detail for the project.

So my summer semester should look something like this
2 bio's, english, psych and either history or if I can persuade the math advisor to let me into math 1150 (which is fucking math 11)
If not I'm going to continuing ed. I can't take physics or chem 1118 without math 1150.

I wouldn't say he's too textbook oriented, nor a hard marker. I mean obviously you have to read the textbook, but he does filter the important shit out for the in-class powerpoint slides that he posts online. As for marking, he's really chill. He just wants to see your understanding of the content. Other than the written content on exams and a group project (choose your partners CAREFULLY), there's nothing else that he really marks.
So yeah, if you want to get an A, all you really have to do is read the textbook chapter before he goes over it in class. I personally don't do this because I'm a lazy fuck, but for many, it'll help solidify certain concepts and vocabulary.
I'm not sure if it's because I have the mindset for this class, but I literally studied only three hours for the last midterm, and got an A.

Hey guys I was wondering which English professor to choose
I want to take both ENGL 1127 and 1129 so that I can finish 6 credits of English during summer
I don't know whom should I choose : Moriarty, Pickard or Holditch?
I am really bad at English, especially on writing, so I'd like to find an easy marker

@TOS'd : I actually did send them an e-mail asking about that problem.
The department chair said that yes, that is possible since they reserve seats in the 1129/1130 courses.
Note that I am talking about the half semester ENGL 1127 and 1129/1130, in case any one is confused.
@ BaoTurbo : I looked up all of the ones I said, but their rating are about the same. I'd prefer some personal experience from someone that has taken their courses before.

I have never personally heard of any of those teachers teach in the past or they never appealed to me but yea you're right that personal experience is always the best and hardest to come by Good luck
