Thanks guys
What is the best way to contact a prof for a course override (on waitlist & prerequisite override)? Through e-mail, person etc?

In person 100%.

don't go dressed like an idiot, and actually show your commited and confident.

It's how I got past some of my math prereq's.

It really depends from prof to prof. Best to start off with giving them an email. After 48 hours, if you still haven't receive a respond... try giving their office extension a call during the day / afternoon. Then lastly, in person.

Of course, you can try in person first too...or in any order. But you have to remember it's Summer right now, and they might not be on campus everyday.

Thanks a lot guys, I can't express how grateful I am with your helpful responses

Oh has anyone taken:

BCAP 3200 (online or lecture) with Wuhrer?
Marketing 1115 with McFarlane?

I'm trying to decide with one of those two I should take first semester. Do you guys know if the courses available in first semester will be available second semester? I'm scared I might not be able to take a core course second semester because I don't know if it would be offered (for example I take FMGT 1115 first term.. and can't take FMGT 1215 second term because it's not offered)..

Their office hours are on their doors.

No offense, but is ubc that student unfriendly that students have to be held by the hand?

I'm actually glad im going to Langara, lots of student prof interaction, and you really appreciate classes that have participation marks.

I've taken Marketing 1115 before and its an easy class.

And G. McFarlane is a nice teacher.

For easy classes, I'd recommend PSYC 1115 (hybrid lecture/online) and BCAP 1200.

Most schools will require 3 classes of social sciences, (1 sociology, 2 psychology) statistics.

As for electives it doesn't matter, go for easy stuff and get a high GPA.

My friend that I study with is a nursing student. Patho is kicking his ass.

Has anyone taken

Math 2310 with Shahrokh
Stat 1181 with Robin Susanto
Mark 1115 with McFarlane or Kevin James?

I'm trying to decide whether to take FMGT 2293 first semester or take FMGT 1115 first semester and FMGT 1215 second semester. Any recommendations for which path to take?

^ I recommend you stay away from this teacher, few of my friends had him for math and he was impossible to understand.

According to my gf, Numerow is a super nice lady, and is a very good teacher. As for Boston, there is a short quiz every class on the readings, a term paper, but no final.

Yeah definitely stay away from LeDuc. Takei or Hayashi is good. Sadly none of their classes fit into my schedule. x_x
