Gap Between Teeth

I'm starting to notice a gap between my front two teeth.. did some googling and something like "bands" are most popular way to fix this problem. My question, does this thing work? Where can I grab it? Are there any other affective alternatives to this problem?

I also have a small wire glued behind my two front teeths, since I've chipped and got a filling for it and need it to keep it in place. Is it safe to use this band with the wire?

how big would you say the gaps are in mm?

if it's pretty wide..the most common way is obviously getting braces.

Is it your upper or lower teeth? both?
Did you start seeing the gap when your dentist put the wire in?

ask your dentist about it...personally i wouldnt worry if it's just like 1mm but if the wire's making the gap expand then i'd be worried.

^ How cheap are we talking? I don't really know the usual prices =\

Also, since i did get a filling for the chipped front teeth. Could that be a possibility of it being cracked after 6-7 years?

You have a veneer done for your chipped teeth? A veneer to fill a gap tooth should cost under $250 but it depends on the dentist. I had a minor chipped tooth which was filled a few years ago. I had both my front teeth touched up and it cost $150.

If you have extended health care, it should be covered. I will be going to fill mine up in Feb.

^^Since when did a cosmetic procedure become a "medically-required" procedure which as far as I know, is the test for all MSP benefits.

Marco is sort of right because technically if you have a chipped tooth it would be covered but if you wanted to have the tooth beside it touched up it wouldn't be covered because it would fall around "cosmetic:. That been said my dental plan did pay for my work, not sure if the dentist just charged the "cosmetic work" under the insured work.

I wouldn't really stress about the cost and if it's covered or not because even if you're not covered it shouldn't cost that much to have the work done. It should be under $200 (according to what my dentist billed).

^^ First of all, are we talking about the MSP that is provided by the BC Government? If we are, it should not cover chipping a tooth, because it is still a cosmetic procedure, unless the tooth is chipped to expose the root.

If you are using your private dental insurance plan from work, then yes, they may cover this type of work.

I have no clue about MSP, I'm talking strictly about private insurance but some private insurance policies are very picky when it comes to cosmetic work.

Ok, the original poster wanted a free ride with MSP and it clearly will not cover cosmetic work.
