car written off?

last week dorm mate's mom driving up 99 highway. it was foggy and she hit the stone divider head on(don't ask me how). luckly she walked out without a scratch, can't say the same for the car.... the front was pretty much bangged up. so is icbc gonna write off the car? because i heard they will only write off the car if the repair cost exceeds 70% of the market value of the vehicle. but in this case the vehicle is a mercedes cls of somesort(90k?).

It depends entirely on the extent of damage.

you also have to remember that the mercedes is gonna be more costly to fix as well so for some cars the repair might be say 10,000 to fix it and for the same repair mercedes might be 25,000 to fix. but ya it is a certain percentage i dont know exactly what it is until they write it off. sometimes its better to be written off cause than you dont have to deal with a low resale value

i think she should just sell the car to a bodyshop, and use w/e is left to buy another one.

i drove up to whistler last weekend

in the fog, it sucked. period. Accidents happen...probably going too fast when visibility is less than 20 feet.
