Well, I finally bit the bullet...

Picked up a new 2008.5 Mazdaspeed3 today, 25,500. Seemed like a good deal.

Pics to follow when I pick it up tomorrow.

That seems absolutely ridiculous for the Mazdaspeed edition... Did you buy it at Pacific Mazda? Anyways congrats, you did get a hell of a deal.

It's that Dark Grey. I bought at Signature Mazda in the Richmond Auto Mall.
I'm over on the mainland this weekend, so I though I would cruise the dealerships while I'm here. I was looking at '09 GT's, but I saw the Speed3 with a sale sticker of $26,860. I thought, what the hell, for a couple more grand I'll get the full meal deal. It's brand new, but has 300km on it. I wasn't actually planning on buying today, but my fiancee bought her wedding dress today so I thought I'd one up her

They still have a 2008 Speed3 on the lot for $26,500.

Wicked deal. I'm not a huge fan of the styling but I bet it's a blast to drive.

You may have won a battle here, but she'll find a way to wage a new war. Good luck and god speed to you, sir.

Nice purchase choice by the way. Good looks, good power, and plenty of potential.

Be very carefull if you mod one of these. Aparently a few guys on the mazda speed forums grenaded their motors with just bolt-ons.

Crazy. We've modified quite a few with no problems whatsoever. Any reason why an intake / exhaust caused those issues?

Brought her home tonight, finally got home.

I caught the 3:15 to Duke Point because there was a car fire on the Queen of Vancouver and therefore no 4:00 to Swartz Bay and lots of delays. So I drove from Nanaimo all the way to Swartz Bay to pick up the Civic from the long term lot.

I have already found out that cold roads and full throttle in 2nd gear makes for unhappy traction control It's taking some getting used to, in the Mustang and the Civic you FEEL every km/h you're driving. In this thing I was cruising along for a while thinking I was doing 90 until I looked down and realized I was doing 130. Whoops!

Man, HID's should be standard on EVERY car they light up the road SO well. My girl drove the MS3 from Swartz Bay to home, and she loved it.

I never used to think of MS3's as spectacular looking, but I'm warming up to it. It was pretty much everything else in the car that won me over, the power, the HID's, the comfort, the automatic climate control, automatic lights, automatic wipers. I don't plan to mod, and I won't be driving it TOO hard since it's the new DD.

I'm almost starting to forget I have a summer car in the garage...

Aparently for some reason just an intake can cause them to run lean. It is possible its due to 91 octane only being availble is most places in the US.

Still confusing to me to have lean issues with DI engines.

The Cobalt SS/TC Pioneer system is WAY better.

bose is overrated and extremely overpriced.

BTW all MIT students get a HUGE discount on bose stuff since the founder graded there. you DONT wanna know what cost is on their stuff.

I already got my first rock chip in the Windsheild

Not even 1000km's on the freaking Odo...

I will never sympathize with a modified 4x4 owner who gets a VI for no mudflaps ever again.

Nice find!
You'll love the fact that the trunk just seems to swallow large objects like finger food.
And there is far more aftermarket support for this car than the P5.
