question about Nokia's

i'm hoping Alphamale can answer this one since he seems to know his shit when it comes to phones. I'm looking at the E71 right now. but how do i check to see if it is E71-1 or E71-2? is it stamped on the phone somewhere?

i also hear that if it used to be branded to rogers.. and then unlocked. i could still run into trouble using some of the features. can anyone confirm this? i thought once the phone is unlocked and it is a -2 then you're good to go

any feedback is appreciated. thanks!

oh .. one more thing. how do i check if the phone is made in Finland or USA =)

1. You can look at the OEM sticker/label under the battery on the phone itself. It should indicate whether it is the E71-1 or E71-2. Also, it should say where it is made.

2. Features - I think maybe just silly things like MMS, being able to create and use your own ringtones/MP3s, WAP settings etc. But that can be changed by doing a simple unbranding and +Kardboard+ has an awesome sticky at the top of this forum on general WAP/data settings for Fido and Rogers.

FYI, unlocking and unbranding are two very different things.

Hope that helps! :)

Another way to check the phone is either a -1 or -2 is if you press
*#0000# and it should tell you as well. I'm not 100% sure though.
