Boxing gloves Where can I get some for good prices? They're used for training only. I was asked to get 16oz ones but I am thinking I can get away with less? |
I got some from canadian tire at a decent price. |

There's a fight shop on 25th and Kingsway, it's called Xtreme Fight Shop they have some good stuff. It's probably the best place locally to find gloves and gear. |
Where do you box? I have no idea when you say they are used for training. Pad work? Bag work, sparring? I would suggest hook and loop and leather (invest in leather if this is a long term deal) If you are new and just want to get your feet wet, the everlast ones for $30-50 will do. You can find them at Wal mart, sport check etc.. And so you know, 160z is what is normally used for sparring. I would recommend 160z as well, to build your punching power. I like the Select ones myself, but they retail for about $140. I only use mine for sparring only and my 12oz for padwork, and bag gloves for the bag sometimes. Link for the Select golves: http://www.tepee-select.com/bgloves-S829-vinal.htm Vinyl cracks. Be careful. Here are the more affordable Everlast (youll find these everywhere) http://cgi.ebay.ca/BOXING-GLOVES-NEW...1%7C240%3A1318 And cruise craigslist, there are always lots of ppl that give up boxing when they get hit in the nose for the first time. |
Thanks for the replies. I'm doing some beginners kickboxing training. I will be doing pad work. |
sports chek carries them, fitness town and any martial arts store |
