If anyone sees a MK5 R32 FS or knows someone, LMK. Thanks |
There is one MK5 R32 for sale on Craigslist. It's being sold by a dealership. |
Thanks, but after driving one, I wasn't impressed enough. |
the noise and the ride |
Most reliable, affordable diesel at the time. Good aftermarket support also. |
I test drove an '08 R32 yesterday. It was fast, but it felt so cheap inside. I was expecting more I guess... Didn't help that the PO put cheap drop springs on it so it bounced like a @#$% and the tires rubbed going in and out of parking lots. I know easy fix ... but I'd like to have driven it with OEM suspension first. For $29,900 (asking price) ... you could do better I think. |
Why? It has character. I wouldn't be getting the same looks or comments if I bought a V6 6 speed Accord, even though that would have been the more sensible option... Its an 88' 635csi btw. |
because the car has personality! and it is much higher quality than most things. like the interior on any domestic cars is so cheap. my 98 a4 has a higher quality... everything compared to the new gto thing i drove |
because I like fixing my bmw when it breaks down. and having 17L/100km |
^ your gas mileage is that bad? my 335 gave me 13L/100km on average and that was mostly city driving too. |
i have a 3.91 LSD - my 120km/h in 5th = 4.3k rpm (no 6th) |
ahhh... short gears must make for pretty awesome acceleration though |
CAUSE RACE CAR AND CLASSINESS |
The scene is incredible! |
I mainly stuck with BMW because I have a GT1 system and their tech manuals / problems are well documented and available.. vs any Japanese cars. Granted I understand it is their culture most people don't service their own cars themselves, but why make it is so pedantic? |
cause the women love BMWs |
cause i love buying expensive parts for repairs and turning money into exhaust fumes at a rapid rate |
clutch just went on the m6. im so excited to be paying $4000 to replace it. can't wait! :rukidding: |
Because the feel of the German cars is now at an import price. I have been a long time Civic Si lover. (owned an amazing 06 Si). The new Civic Si is one of the worst cars I have test driven. Which is why Honda is doing a redisign after one year. My new 2012 GLI was $1000 more than the 2012 Si and has the upscale feel. Dual Zone Climate Control Heated seats Sturdy Feel Soft touch dash and "nice" plastics. I also have a 2.0T engine, that if chipped makes 254hp/300trq. For $600 bucks. and gets 27mpg My old Si made 240whp.180wtrq after investing $3000. and got 25mpg. Honda/Toyota need to get with the times and make decent cars that excite the driver. Both have leaned towards cars for the older generation, and both are seeing terrible sales. Even Kia/Hyundai are understanding that attractive cars sell, and are producing some amazing cars at great prices. I would have easily bought a Hyundai Veloster turbo (2013) or Kia Optima Turbo over any offering from Honda or Toyota. Nissan needs to work on their reliability before anyone takes them seriously again. Having Dodge build the Titan just shows their lack of interest in producing a good product. |
^ i always thought the GLI wasn't made in Germany. If it's made in Germany, that would be a good deal. |
Any VW with the highest trim is "usually" made in Germany i.e. GLI, GTI, R series etc. |
Thanks for clarifying that up. are the Tiguans made in Germany too? Highline or something for the option |

Ouch. I stand corrected. |
Yes my GLI is made in Mexico. I am more talking about how the car currently feels than the build quality. So far (2500km's) the car is rock solid and not a single problem. |
