Those I'd say would have to be the unofficial world record's.
LOL my old Mazda 1976 808 station wagon clocked just over half a million kms with an unopened tc 1300 block. never skipped a beat, fuckin slow piece of crap

I have always owned Jap cars previously. Once I got a feel for Euro when a friend got a GTI, I feel in love and got a brand new MKV GTI as well. After a year, I sold it and picked up a Volve S60R which was really comfortable. Year after that, my daughter was born and needed a little more back seat. So went out and got myself a E60 M5 which I currently drive. I will never or cant go back to drive a Jap tin can after Euros. The whole driving experience, built quality and comfort is day and night difference.

German heritage, and I usually spend a few weeks there annually. Definitely love not just their cars but pretty much everything there.

Seeing a Saab in person and becoming more and more interested in it.

I think the History is what got me more into it.

I didn't choose Euro life, the Euro life chose me.

Seriously, straight traded my Miata for a 850 wagon. Because I couldn't pass the Miata on at the time and this gentleman got interested in it.

i bought my 2001 gti because i was tired of building civics that felt like they wanted to shake them selves apart after 90km/h

IMO a "good" performance car is a car you can drive and not realize your doing a buck 30.

Agreed, one of the biggest things I noticed about my Mercedes c230 over my previous Domestic and Import Cars is how smooth it is at higher speeds and the lack of road noise or vibration in the cabin. Sounds mundane but on a long roadtrip things like that come into account. I have no problem pushing the car up the Coke doing 150+ the whole way.

Went euro because in used cars nothing will touch an E36, when considering price vs performance, build quality, handling, and class. At double the budget I might get something else, but at what they cost there's nothing comparable.

Stuck with it because the only comparable car is a Nissan, and no one wants to put their Nissan key on the table when they could put a BMW key there. Ok that's not why but they're great cars as long as you either fix them yourself or just expect to put money into them

When comparing subcompact SUVs, the price of a 2016 BMW X1 after dealer incentives was not much higher than some cheaper competitors like the Mazda CX5

Went Euro because, the e46 is my childhood dream car. At the time, I didn't know all the different models, I just knew the style I liked. While, the e46 M3 is the future car, I got an opportunity to buy a 330ci for dirt cheap. Having said that, that should have been my first warning sign. Probably should have learned how to wrench before getting this too.

1996 Mercedes C220. I've been a Jeep/Ram/Mopar guy my entire life and have never owned a MB before. Friend of mine had driven it for 3yrs and had kept it in great shape. 800+ kms/tank was attractive too.
And...after driving so many Jeeps over the years, I figured I needed a little bit of luxury.
