| Best Wheel Mounting
Hey everyone,
Just bought a set of OZ Ultra Leggeras for my 1.7 and im looking for a place to get the tires mounted.
Recommendations please!!!
I need to mount both 15 and 17" tires.
All I know is that Advance is $15 for 16" and under
$20 for 17"
and also $5 for tire removal.

do not cheap out. you value ur wheels? you value if they get scratched? vendors on here that advertise their quality and the machines they use, advertise them for a REASON.
and that price is pretty damn good.
kaltire charges 19 bucks for 16" rims.

I've had 3 sets of wheels mounted at Advance, never a problem. Kal and Fountain tire always managed to ding the lip. However, I only took my shitty wheels there.

and now since i have them on i want to take the winter tires i previously had on (with steelies) and now change them over to my stock rims
then after i would change back to winter tires (with stock rims)

does advances price include balancing and putting the wheels back on the car? i'd think so but just wanted to make sure cause that's a killer deal.

Its not the machine they use, Its the person using it?
Do you trust that kid working on your rims.
My 2 cents.

fucking bastards across the border at les schwab ripped me off.. the guy said I had "special" rims that required a different mounting procedure that would cost $20 more, (i bet its cuz i was canadian).. so i watched when a tire guy put them on.. and the special procedure was none other then spinning the wheel and using a bar to put the tire on... fucking assholes.

^ you have to do that if the tire has a stiff sidewall, or else it is way to hard to put the top part on. but yea, u did get ripped off. they shouldn't charge you more for that, it has to be done.

My 2 cents. | +1 for that.
We've got 2 tire machines at work, and the supposedly "better" machine, which is far more advanced than the our other machine, sucks crap for stiff sidewalls and runflats. The new machine is great for regular tires, on and off really fast, no damage. The old machine is the best for stiff tires. Not as fast for regular tires, but great for stiff tires, which the new machine can't even do without it being a fight.

there are a lot of tricks i learned when i used that machine. i didnt dare do any real low pro's, but with guidance, i mounted my 245/30/20s. i shat bricks the whole way through.
so many determining factors. is the wheel a reverse mount? does the drum design allow for easy tire install? is the tire stretched? what brand of tire is it? even the temperature of the tire helps a lot too!
like i said in another post kal tire charges $19 per wheel/tire to mount n balance (this is for 16in wheel/tire)
advance charges $15 per wheel/tire to mount n balance. So you still think Advance is expensive when they are using the top of the line corghi machine???
there is a reason why local dealers and other shops even ask advance to mount and balance.
man i loved using that bead blaster, scars the shit out of everyone that doesnt have ear muffs on. i still cover my ears everytime i wait for the tire to "pop" when inflating, hahahaha.

For tires with taller sidewalls, if they're stored on their side, it's harder to get the beads to seal enough to hold any air at all.
