G1 Software Update??

any other g1 users here? there is this message that began to pop up today on my G1 telling me to update and it appears again in like 30 mins after i selected update later. is there anyway to permanently dismiss this? or how will the update affect the phone? since i dont have a data plan, can i do it via wifi?,will it relock? i think im on R30 right now since thats wut it says on the build number

If it's unlocked already, it should permanently be unlocked. Kinda weird that it'd alert you of an update. I thought only t-mo subscribers got that notification. Update is to R33

I never got it, but I did manually update it. If you're just purely doing an update, it doesn't change of your settings at all.

phones are becoming too much like computers, they even have the same annoyances
