Should have seen the look on my teammates faces when I showed up with goalie gear one game.

They all know I can play D but had no idea I could play goal too.
Only down side, my back killed for the next 2 days because I haven't played goalie since high school.

Just picked up the Warrior Ritual G2 Pro Classic chest pad.

I cant wait to try it this weekend. I opted for it over the Pro with the mechanical arms because I just couldn't stand the feel of it.

I tried both on multiple times at The Hockey Shop, and just couldn't get over the feel of the pro model.

Will post a picture when I get a chance.

When I play out, I stay away from defense. Back checking is okay, but I need to be on the wing. It's too easy to fall back into goalie tendencies including catching pucks after forgetting that you're not wearing a trapper.

I felt the same way and went with the Vaughn chestie. I've come across a couple of guys who use the Pro and love it, but it was a little too crazy for me.

I'm selling my 11K Pros, Large, for $150 negotiable.....They have been modified to handle heavier shots, and have reinforcement in heavy wear areas.

Enjoy the ovie curve? Tried it out when he was sponsored by ccm in a game and it was little too much for my liking..

I don't mind it. Still able to keep it under controlled. That hook makes cradling the puck easy!

That c/a looks really good. I love how they still use the JRZ plastic elbows. I went down in a game with my old Reebok and landed directly on my elbow. The plastic cup took it like a champ.

Took a relatively hard shot straight to the chest. Got a bruise right above my belly button. So far, not too impressed with the Ritual G2 chest.

Sometimes you need to give some credit to the shooter. I'm using a Vaughn V5 that I love. It's a modern design, well built and similr to what the pros use. But I still come home with bruises every now and then. The bottom line is that a 6oz puck travelling over 80mph will at the very least be felt, and worst case it will do damage.

I have a few of my many injuries that I will share with you.

Puck hit. The bruise got a lot darker and nastier over the next few days.

Puck hit. At one point the whole inner bicep was black and bruised. Again, I snapped this the night it happened. Should have snapped the aftermath.

The result of getting snowed in the crease. An eye infection that kept me out of the crease for two weeks, and cost $110 in medications. Now I throw hands when someone snows me.

But you know what they say.....

the first ones always hurt, but it goes away with each subsequent fail.

I know we will get those odd bruises here and there. Just didn't expect it square on in one of the most reinforced areas of the chesty.

I took a shot to the center of my chest on tuesday night and thought I was having a heart attack. It was a rocket of a shot from close range and I guess I must have been breathing out because it hit hard. Got that odd feeling when your consciousness leaves your body, then snapped back into it. It felt like a dozen seconds had passed, but in reality it was less than 2 seconds from hit to normal.

That was weird.

werd!

No one beats Corey Crawford though. After he got drunk and fell down the stairs at a "Rise Against" concert at a Chicago night club, injuring his ankle.

That was embarrassing for him.

They are a talented band, For sure.

Although I continue to get them mixed up with rage against the machine. I'm terribly let down every time I hear one of their songs for its lack of angry, politically driven rage rock.

In a side note, what did hypa do today?

I couldn't say no. My old reeboks are beat up, and after 40 months and over 600 ice times, they are up for replacement. The guys at the hockey shop were great, so it was time to make the move.

Looking forward to using them on the ice. Problem is, my next ice time is an ashl game, so I'm debating on whether or not I'm going to break them in during a game.

Looking for someone who can sharpen skates properly.

I've been to almost everywhere. The only guy I brought them to was the guy at Burnaby Winter Club but they shut down and he has since retired.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks
