Cecil for my skates too. He is a guy I can trust to do it right. I'll also use Angelo at magic. He sdems to have the sharpest 1/4" cut I've ever used. It works well for the soft ice we have in the summer. Hey Danny, do you want to play for me next Thursday? ASHL @ 8 rinks. Txt me and I can forward you the info. |

Just recently started getting some srs lace bite on only my right foot. Not sure how long its going to irritate me for but have any of you had this problem? What did you do to help/fix it? Is there certain gel pads that work really well? |

Elite Hockey Lacebite Gel Pad | Accessories | The Hockey Shop Source for Sports Canada | The Hockey Shop Source For Sports Canada | Bauer CCM Reebok Warrior Gong Show Vaughn Brians Easton | The Hockey Shop Source For Sports Canada | Bauer CCM Reebok Same one I used before. This is the cheap fix. Other alternatives is to change your current tongue to a Felt tongue or stitching felt to your existing tongue. Other than that make sure you have proper fitting skates and ones that are within your skating skill. |
Yeah its the weirdest thing to me because i've been on skates pretty much my entire life and never had this problem. I picked up a new pair of x100's roughly 6 months ago, but havent had any lace bite till now. I think i may have tightened up a little too tight on the one side. Ill probably just take some time off for now a play more golf instead. |
Have you tried changing your laces or the type of sock you wear? Otherwise it sounds like the culprit is the tongue breaking down. |

But if you must, there is no set point on where to cut. Every model of stick is different depending on how they are constructed. The only way to tell is to slow cut away will the opening is wide enough to fit the replacement blade. |
anyone know where I could get a cat eye cage for bauer nme 3? |
Quote:
I'm curious- are you using that for ball hockey? |
^^^ive tried ordering from goalie monkey but they cant ship bauer products to canada i will be using it for drop ins with friends ice |
You'll have to ship it to Point Roberts and import it yourself. I doubt any Canadian retailers have cat eye cages left since people stocked up on them once Health Canada outlawed them. I'd recommend upgrading the mask before going for the cat eye. The NME3 is an entry level mask and offers little in terms of protection. Not everyone can shell out top dollar for a pro level mask but there are more affordable options in the $400-500 range from smaller makers like Sportmask, Hackva or Protechsport. |
Get rid of the NME3. I wouldn't even use that for ball hockey. My next mask is going to be a Protechsport. They can be had for almost half the price of a 961. When I ordered my cats eye, I just had Goalie Monkey ship it to Point Roberts. Another option is, Goalie Monkey has their in house cages that they make. They mentioned those can be shipped to Canada as there are no company restrictions etc. |
Sorry, I've never shipped anything from HM. What is this shipping restrictions all about? |
Retailers have shipping restrictions placed on them by the manufacturers. US retailers like HM can't ship brands like Bauer, Easton, Warrior or CCM out of the country. They briefly used a parcel forwarding service to get around this and stopped when they got in trouble. Bauer actually has a more strict shipping policy in Canada. No high end product can be shipped. |
But CBSA won't stop us from picking up from Blaine or Pt. Roberts right? |
I use to use the NME5, but took a shot to the chin and cracked it. Upgraded to the NME7 afterwards, and barely feel anything from head shots. |

As for shipping to the US. I've done it many times, for various items (C/A, glove/blocker, bags, bottles, blah blah blah). Not a single hassle at the border. CBSA doesn't care that you import it. That said, if you spend a lot be prepare to pay some taxes. But they won't stop you from importing items with "manufacturer-set restrictions". |
As stated above, I had no problem bringing my cats eye back from Point Roberts. They asked what I bought, and I told them hockey equipment. |
thanks for the tip guys I will now look into a new mask the drop in that I play in doesn't have that many high calibre players so I don't get shots in the face much |

The NME3/5 aren't even full fiberglass, so you're essentially heading out there with a plastic shell against rubber pucks. It's good to see you're going to look into getting another (well-fitting) helmet and not one of those stubborn guys that go "oh it's ok it should be fine". |
On the topic of masks: Anyone have any experience with Michel at Protechsport? My Eddy bit the dust last game :'( |
