I loved my Nexus 1000. It was very easy to shoot but when I switched to my Vapor APX2, same flex same length, the APX2 felt a lot stiffer.

Not sure about the new nexus sticks, but the 1000's shaft is concave on all 4 sides while the APX2 is concave on 2 and convex on the other 2 which makes it feel a little girthy. Unfortunately I have small hands. :QQ:

the new 1N has that "sweet spot" tech..closest to the G3
I can say this, the 82flx Ovie stick I've been using feels less shift in the middle

its also a different carbon weave than the new bauer stuff

Anyone know where I can pick up an electric hockey/sport equipment drying rack?

Costco, Sportchek, The Hockey Shop

You can also diy if you feel like it. Just some pvc, drill some holes, and a small fan to blow air through the pvc pipes. There were some cool designs floating around online.

Mind end up cheaper than getting a Rocket Dryer or that one they sell at Sport Chek.

Hockey Drying Rack Hockey Equipment - Cyclone Taylor

edit. NVM you wanted the rocket dryer.

Tim Budong 11-13-2015 07:26 PM

rocketdryer ftw

BallPeenHammer2 11-16-2015 12:18 AM

I'm a big fan of the rocket dryer. Very simple design, easy to pack and go. Lightweight yet durable. I've had mine for 3 years now. Not a single issue.

Any place locally to get a moulded mouth guard instead of the $40 ones at sportchek?

As in off-the-shelf?

Aside from your local dentist, there's no other local options for a moulded mouth guard.

If you're looking for a thinner option but cheaper than getting a custom one, check out SISU:

Looking to move a a pair of mint med Rbz pants and new right hand apx2. Pm me if interested :)

trip 12-06-2015 05:02 PM

local.. i went here: PROtectGuards | PROtect Custom Mouthguards | Vancouver BC

m3thods 12-07-2015 11:44 AM

Care to offer a testimonial? It's almost enough cash to go to a dentist to get one done there, so if it's close I'd be very intrigued.

FYI I think you can get SISU at The Hockey Shop. Just to the right of the skates.

it's local in surrey, super easy process. took two visits. one for molding and one for final fitting. i think mine ended up coming out to be $100, they had a special at the time. (i got a black mouthguard with a set of sharp/shark teeth)

it fits great
a little bulky (not as bulky as trying to use an adult size boil/bite)
-they might be able to make it a little less bulky. i think mine had extra protection.. forgot..
durable
custom graphic on it looks sick lol

if you have dental coverage at work then that might end up being the way to go (not too sure how all that works).

previous to this i used a boil/bite which i didn't really have a problem with but the fit wasn't all that great. since i lost mine and was going to spend 40-50 again. i ended up getting a custom one

m3thods 12-10-2015 02:56 PM

Thanks for that! I too use a boil/bite that I don't have any issues with. Actually I like it a lot, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth. I can't justify a custom from a dentist as I play more goalie than player, but I had no idea a place like this existed locally. I'll definitely give them a look when I need a new guard.

You can always price adjust once there's a f&f sale and then use TA coupon on top.
Will save you an extra $50+

Nvasion 01-17-2016 09:48 PM

I was thinking about that but i dont think they doing a fnf sale anytime
