:lol fast forward to 12:01 when Phil falls off his chair and comes up with a different color shirt. :lol Anyway, mine is the older gel model. I didn't want to spend the money on one, so I stuck with a dangler for years. When Danny gave me his old Maltese, I started using that and took off the dangler about 6 months ago, fully committing to the Maltese. Needless to say, my neck is sore but I'm able to talk and breath. I would love to get a new Maltese foam protector, and truly believe that it is worth the money. Mine is a few years old now, and I've been using it 2-3 times a week on the ice for the last year. It's one of those pieces that you won't need to replace for a long time. I guess if I order it now I could have it for the 2017 spring season. KappaPride |

Hypa: No problem man. I got yo back! Methods: It's a more basic unit from their earlier days. It's gel, not air froth foam. It's a bit heavier. I used it for a bit but ran too hot for me ( I wear a LOT of padding) I currently have a Vaughn pro carbon one, but given that I have a Mage TT, I use a dangler. The chin's just too short for me not to wear one. |

Dunno where to post, but anyone looking for a full time ice goalie this winter season, let me know. Can play in vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond rinks. Can play at any higher-mid-level tier down to the bottom. Would Mich rather play full time on a team rather than subbing in. |
anyone here want to play floor hockey in fleetwood on Wednesday nights? |
In case anyone is looking for a new pair of shin pads for winter. https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/...283946233.html Bought them and they fit a little short for me and returning them is gonna cost a bit in restocking fees. |
Friend and I are signing up for the Discover Hockey program out of the Richmond Oval. If we can get 1 (or more) people to sign up with us, we each get to save $50! It's a program designed for beginners. You get 2 off-ice sessions, 8 on-ice development sessions, and then get to play 4 games out of the NCHL. I've played with some of these guys before, and this is a very awesome, close-knit community! Here's the program details: https://www.discoverhockey.com/program/ pm me |
Currently, at the tail-end of that DH program and my last game is this Thurs. If you're a beginner in hockey I would recommend this program, because they will try to teach you the basics of skating, shooting, and passing in 8 sessions. Afterwards, if you want you can join the NCHL league and be in a team! |

Just an FYI, The Hockey Shop in Surrey had a pretty major fire over the weekend and is closed until further notice. All that goalie gear I've been oggling :crybaby: |
Where do you get your skates sharpened? at the rink? hockey store? Scoffs? |

But according to their Insta, they may be using the old Surrey Central Best Buy as a temporary space :fullofwin: |

Just wondering if anyone knows who in town sells Tackla pants or are my only options to buy them off Scambay? |
Quote:
The Canadian-made Tacklas were originally manufactured by Vaughn. After Vaughn purchased Eagle in 2008, the pants were branded as Eagle instead. The Tacklas found in the US market were made overseas by Montreal Hockey Co and are an inferior pant. |
Looking for a tackla pant?! I recommend finding a store that sells the new Jofa combo, the new Eddy mask, and the new Cooperall pants. Maybe grab some Graf skates, and a wooden stick while you're there. :lol Your best bet is to hit up the sports replay stores around the lower mainland. Ive found some really cool vintage gear, but you have to be lucky to find that sort of thing. It took me years before I found my Itech cheater pants, and they were still making those a decade ago. |

Bumping this up, my Easton Stealth RS finally broke and I've learned that Easton no longer even makes sticks any more. What is the closest alternative to the original RS? I went back to my old Bauer Nexus 1000 and just did not have the same feel. Likely due to the mid kick point vs lower on the RS, but the puck feel was also clearly different despite the fact back in the day the 1000 was also a top end stick. Clearly my gear knowledge is several years/generations outdated. |

Easton was purchased by Bauer. Even though Easton is no longer, some of their technology has transitioned into Bauer product. The current gen Vapor line of sticks will feature an elliptical taper like the one found on the RS. What spec do you use? There's still RS and RS II sticks floating around online. |
Sorry, might be a weird bump, but: I have a full set of entry level gear (for beginner to intermediate) and I don't play anymore, anyone know the best place to offload? |

Sports Junkies will give you pennies on the dollar, but cash up front. If you're not in a hurry, I've had good experiences consigning with Cheapskates and North Shore Sports Swap. |
