i was thinking of picking up a warrior mojo 55 flex w/kremlin curve but for 30$ cheaper i could get a warrior dolo '11 but 70 flex. im light weight too at 125lb. my buddy is telling me to go for the dolo '11 input? |
Get the Dolo, its a much better stick. Not to mention 55flex is what little kids use. Im 160lbs and use 100flex cut to 105. |
Trip, How tall are you and how strong of a skater and shooter are you? I'm a good skater and a pretty good shooter but I use a 77 flex Tone cut to 84 flex cause I am lazy. The 55 flex may be too short as cdizzle has mentioned it is a kids stick. The 70 flex might be a better fit for you, and the length should be around right too. |
i'm just under 5'6. both sticks are INT and im basically a noob. im currently using a warrior bentley 65 flex and i got a bauer one55 67 flex as back up. looking for a stick upgrade.. both current sticks are heavy lol leaning to the dolo '11 but wanted further input :) |
if you like the bentley then the warrior will be 100x the upgrade over that. i also started with the bentley and then went to a swizzle and now a dolo. doesn't feel like i'm dragging the stick around anymore |

THS also has their end of season sale going on right now |
Anyone else a glove whore here? |
My gloves seem to get destroyed when I play roller hockey. I used my good condition 3 year old ice hockey gloves last year for roller hockey, and the palms ripped apart in the middle of my roller hockey season..does this happen to you guys? |
What glove/type of palm are you using? What sort of tape do you use on the top of your stick? |
yea i use some shitty bauer vapour 5s lmao...thats probably why :( |
I bought a couple of pairs of Bauer pro 4-rolls almost 3 years ago. I used to wear through top hand palm about every 1.5 years with my other low-mid end gloves. I was a bit concerned with the 4-rolls at first because the top hand palm seemed to wear thin after 1-2 months. But it hasn't gotten much worse since, and remains completely intact. Still on the first pair, and have a brand new pair waiting and ready to go. |
I wear through the palm on my top hand as well. I have a bad habbit of holding the top of the knob with my palm as I skate towards the faceoff. As the ref drops the puck, I will turn my hand and hold the stick normally. But to wear out that quickly does seem a bit odd. Are your palms double layered? I know on my SE16's and my last pair of cheapo gloves, the center of the palms had a second layer of material. |
It feels as if mine are (Bauer X60:Pro). Even so, I tried adding a thin layer of tape to the palm/thumb on the top hand glove and it seems to work well. Doesn't affect feel much and replacing it every couple games appears to be extending its life. |
damn how often do you guys play to wear through gloves so often |
dont have to play too often to wear out your palms im in the market for new mits, thinking of the totalones but i havent tried them on yet currently have the RBK 4 roll, they are nice but worn and torn now, thinking of going back to Bauer |
So after getting my helmet cracked from a high stick a few weeks ago I finally got around to getting a new lid. Picked up an S19 for cheap. Thing is crazy light, can't wait to wear it now. Also picked up a bauer 7500 face cage to prevent any more blade toes from potentially gouging my eyeball out and anymore future stitches to the face. Can't say I'm too estatic about the cage but gotta get used to it now Posted via RS Mobile |

^The palms are stiffer than brand new for sure but still quite soft overall. I've had CCM and Mission gloves about 6-8mos old where the palm would totally harden and crust up when dry. I think leather just looses its suppleness over time. I'm just thrilled they are still in one piece! I haven't noticed any issues with the padding on the glove though, aside from the inner liner padding getting thin. It wasn't thick to begin with, and doesn't really do a whole lot protection wise. |

I hate shopping for helmets. Most times I find my head doesn't really need the front/back adjustments, but side to side adjustment in the shell would be great since the top of my head is more flat. If I get a larger size helmet to fit the width, then its too big front/back even with adjustment. I'm using a low end heavy Rbk 4k right now because it fits me comfortably, the 5/6/7/8k and my head don't work. I've recently found the S17 to work ok as well but they are discontinued and I don't need a new helmet yet. The S13 and S19 don't work at all for me. |
S17 is garbage. I'd pick the S13 over that. Its heavy and very narrow and it hurts the back of my head. The only helmet I came across with side adjustment is the easton E700/600. But the real shipment for most shops is 1-3 months away. But I hear you! I spent 2 weeks trying on helmets after my stitches came out. Posted via RS Mobile |
