Im an RBK guy.........but when it comes to sticks, its the only peice of equipment that i choose that will differ from the rest of my gear, which are TPS's.....

All the NBH sponsored athletes I've seen are using NBH sticks this year... except for Malkin since we know how much of a gear whore he is and he'll pull out the occasional Dolomite or what not.

i will admit though that NBH has made leaps and bounds in their stick techology in the past little while ... but im still a Synergy guy :D

^^ That pic's from last year before the ONE95 came out (notice the 10th anni. patch on the jersey). Staal started this season off with the Synergy SE but he's been using strictly the ONE95 since December.

Agreed that Bauer's made big leaps in the OPS market. I owned the first Tri-Flex OPS that was supposed to compete with the original Synergy and it was absolute garbage. On the other hand I've been an Easton to Warrior convert.

Wasn't me... I've only purchased shins from Cyclones and Sportchek.

which model warrior you using?

'07 pro stock Dolomite w/ Soft grip. I'm deciding about getting the newer ones (same stick different graphics)... but I don't know if I want INT or SR... 70 flex might be too whippy but it's a bit cheaper than the SR.

I like Warrior because it's got one of the most solid blades I've ever used. I've owned several other OPS before and the blade gets soft after a few months. I've had the Dolo since December 2007 playing 1-2 times a week and I can still feel some pop in the blade. It's finally starting to crack on the face, hence my search for a new one.

I've used a bunch of different OPS and right now I love my S17. But for my next stick, i was thnking of trying out a Dolo. Sports Exchange has a bunch for sale for $150, but they don't have anything that I really want. Most were the 75 Smyth flex, or 110 Jovo flex.

If it's $150 for a pro stock Dolo I would pony up the extra $20 and buy retail to get the warranty. Not to mention you'd have more options with curve, lie and flex.

No, they were the regular Dolo with the regular warrenty.

Oh in that case it's a good deal then. You mentioned a Smith pattern so I assumed it was pro-stock. If it's Smyth that makes sense.

They are very tempting at $150 but the 75 flex is making me think twice. That and the lack of selection.

Sorry, but what is the difference between the 2 sticks? I've read a lot of good reviews of the dolo.

i wouldnt know. i have a low end tps stick. buddies that used dolo like it but say it doesnt last.

Dolo is basically an Innovative 1100 shaft and blade combo fused together.

Mac Daddy is a true one piece, not a fused two piece like the Dolo and most OPS on the market. It's the equivalent to the Innovative True-1 I believe.

Skates: Bauer 8090 - Should have bought 4 pairs during clearance.

Helmet: RBK 6K w/ Itech H22 mirrored visor - OV Wannabe.

Gloves: Bauer Vapour XXX - Great glove, palms get worn out fast.

Shoulder Pads: Itech 50 - nicknamed the "minimalis".

Pants: NikeBauer XX - superlight. No protection for back legs.

Shin: Itech SG1055 - good enough.

Elbow: HMP 33 - at least 15 years old. Best elbow pads ever.

Current Stick: RBK 9K O-stick - nice design, can't get a good shot off.

Best Stick Ever: Easton Synergy Si-Core - Where can I get more of these?

Are you picky about the flex/curve? I've seen some 100 flex ones in various curves available at certain Sportcheks and Sport Marts. They're around $99-$129, I forget.

Went by THS today and they had a bunch of Dolo for $169 and $179 for the one's with the sticky feel and $189 for the mac daddy and $199 for the ones with the sticky feel.

I will swing by Ice level on monday to take a look. Unfortunately, THS had a bunch of 75 flex and Jovo curves. I am looking for something that is 85-100 flex.

Skates: RBK 5K pumps - I popped the air bladder, so it leaks after every shift and preventing me from getting consistent support.

Helmet: RBK 6K with a HX-50 visor - Comfortable helmet, but having issue with the padding peeling with longer games, and the smell or jebus the smell.

Gloves: NBH supreme 70's - Love the palms

Shoulder Pads: CCM 656 - Bulky and restrictive, can't stand them thus i rarely use them.

Pants: Bauer 2000 - not enough padding, every blocked shot hurts.

Shin: Bauer 2000 or 3000 - need new ones.. but i'll wait till these ones break

Elbow: CCM Vibe - comfortable and thats all that matters.. but i do miss the old jofa's.

Current Stick: Easton Synergy Si-Core - i love it... and shall cry when it finally breaks.

Hunting for a new ops. Been using a TPS adrenaline for about a year and the blade is going soft now.

Looking for a stick with a durable blade, narrowed it down to 3 choices

I mostly take slappers and very rarely a wrist shot. Been using a whip flex Perry curve so anything with an open heel curve 75-85 flex would be nice. Was also considering Int flex since I want to cut it down. Don't know if that would be too flexy for slappers though.

Any suggestions?

If you take a lot of slappers, like me, the soft blade might be an issue for all sticks. What was recommended to me was finding a 2 piece that suits you best. This way when the blade goes soft, you can change to a new blade.

Right now, I have 5 OPS sticks beside my door. 2 Koho's with soft blades, 1 Vapor VII that is a heavy POS. 1 S17 but with a defence man's curve and gives me an awesome slapshot. and my newest stick Mac Daddy with a Kovelev curve. Gonna try that stick out tonight, along side my new RBK 9K pump skates. :thumbsup:
