Coming from a 4500, 8500, and 9500 cage, the reakt definitely doesn't disappoint.

Cage. Better breathability, and fog drives me nuts.

agreed.
My half shield fogs up while on the bench. If you're moving it's good to go, but a man needs some time to catch his breath.

Some people use pledge.

I just use a towel to wipe it dry between shifts.

A cage has saved me numerous times from severe facial injuries. Couple seasons ago, a goalie kicked me in the face after his d-Man rode me into his net and took him out. I probably would have broken my jaw and lost many teeth. As annoying as it is, we're not doing this professionally and would rather be safe than sorry.

I only wear my visor on picture days or when I'm casually playing with buddies.. Don't want to lose any teeth :denied:

wear a mouthguard :).

as for fog issues... I have used the Hejduk, bauer pro series, and oakley visors, and none of them really fogged up. The spray I do use to clean the visor is the oakley AFR spray, but currently, the one that came with my Hejduk visor.

SumAznGuy 12-03-2012 04:25 PM

I am serious about using Pledge to keep the visor from fogging up.
As I kid, I use to use dish soap as well.

Puck vs mouthguard, puck wins every time :D

Akinari 12-03-2012 04:38 PM

Got back on my skates yesterday after an eight-month hiatus, though, I didn't gear up :okay: just a fast-paced public skate with a few buddies.

Man my Synergy SE10s really do last forever.

jack3d 12-03-2012 07:36 PM

dish-soap really works, put a dab and rub it in with a towel

mickz 12-03-2012 09:27 PM

Try mounting the visor further away from your face. They usually fog up due to a lack of ventilation.

you should do stick and puck.... this way you get the feel of the stick in your hands and you get to shoot the puck around

I'll give the dish soap/fog spray a try. I'm in net 80% of the time, but there are those days I'd like to put one or three in the back of the net.

:fullofwin:

jack3d 12-04-2012 04:09 PM

i guess it depends on what visor u got too. i have a hdo pro straight, no fogging, no dish soap needed. then i got one of those bigger, cheaper bauer ones that fog up and i use the dish soap

Are you talking those Paul Kariya-type ones?

When I had a X100 (itech, but now bauer) it never fogged once. Maybe they changed the design or something

!Nhan 12-04-2012 06:04 PM

i have a bauer x100 visor and it fogs, but then the lens is pretty old so maybe i'll try my new one to see if it still fogs up

Leopold Stotch 12-04-2012 09:11 PM

i heard pledge works too, but i use this spray from cyclone, works okay.

when i get my new helmet, i'm probably gonna get a cage, i just hate guys who talk shit with cages on, lol really grinds my gears.

Akinari 12-04-2012 09:20 PM

I've always used a cage, but I've also tried a visor. Honestly I don't mind either one.

moefoe81 12-05-2012 03:14 AM

I use pleadge on my hdo pro straight cut and it doesn't fog up. As long as you breathe through your mouth.
