One of my biggest frustrations with playing on any floor is the friction and lack of movement. The inline leagues would be foolish to ban these. All they're doing is shrinking the pool of goaltenders. It's already tough to find a good goalie who is willing to play inline. An innovation like the rollerfly will bring more skilled ice goalies to the inline floor. I used to mock inline as a game for skinny, half emo, VW driving queers. But I fell in love with it once I started taking shots out there. It's just such a fast, fun game, and a great addition to my ice hockey. |
^Ironically I used to love roller and once I started playing ice, felt the roller game was slow and a bit boring. A lot more fun reading and predicting plays as a goalie on ice I'll still enjoy roller, just never in net |
Yea when you play goalie in roller hockey you really have to think about positioning yourself a step ahead before the play |
goalie is def more exciting in roller as it is wide open and you face more shots.. as a player ice is def more fast paced... |
How come you're selling your total one BlueG2? Posted via RS Mobile |

Only thing stopping me is the curve. Wish it was closer to what I use. Posted via RS Mobile |

On the ice I can use my athleticism to get that big "out of position" save. On the floor, not so easy. I found the same with ball hockey too, that if you're out of position, you're screwed. Quote:
I should get out there and try it as a player one of these days. |
i started playing roller and loved the game, then after half a season of ice this winter i don't really want to go back to playing roller anymore. for one i can't stop which is the biggest issue i have after playing ice. other than that the game is fun because of how fast it can be. |

I love seeing a guy carry the puck and stop, only to have the guy chasing him skate right past. Stopping on inline isn' that tough. I learned to do it because of the whole t-push thing. I can move laterally on my skates, but have to stop at the post or else the net will be wide open. Soft wheels are the key. I run Labeda grippers on my inline skates, and they're awesome. Quote:
For some reason this got me thinking. I wonder if I've ever played with any of you guys out there and not realized it. I mean, it's not like my jersey says "hypa" or yours says "BlueG2". It would be so much more convenient if they did though. |

i need a shell for my girdle. do i buy the same size or go a size up? ordering off hockey monkey sportcheck doesnt carry shells?? |
Girdle + shell combos aren't as common in retail. Buy the same size shell as your girdle though. Most local shops I've seen only carry pant shells, I don't think I've seen girdle shells. |
anyone know where i can find tour roller skates locally? |
nowhere! |
