I know most people have a back up today, but not everyone have 2 identical sticks, and the back up usually is a "crappier" stick.

Just wanted some feedback on this......thanks!
i wouldnt use it. i always have a backup. if you are hockey nuts, you will always have a backup. maybe parents of kids that are playing at high levels MIGHT, but then again most places like RIC, 8 rinks etc have pro shops there.

Does anyone have good/bad stories about glove repairs/repalmings done locally? I'm looking to get a pair done soon.

I looked into it last year. Couldn't justify the price so I ended up buying new. I had been using one95's that I loved but had to let them go.

Thinking 18k blocker and pads. Then p4 catcher.

So has anyone received their 5% back in gift cards from Sportchek's team assist program yet? I never got anything back in 2011 and I'm starting to doubt I'll receive anything for 2012.

I did for 2011, but nothing yet for 2012. I heard that they got backed up and they didn't actually start to process 2012 until sometime in March.

There's not much room to do any drills when the rink is full, here's a youtube channel is pretty helpful. Don't go to stick and puck at RIC on fridays. It is always busy on Fridays. Go any other day of the week and there should be enough room to work on stuff.

Hockey Tips and Hockey Drills - YouTube

Just don't go to stick and puck and start firing slap shots. I see so many noobs that can barely skate do this all the time.

What do you want to work on? Skating? Puck handling? Passing?

skating go sign up for power skating at brit when they put the ice back in. should be few weeks away. it's better than going snp and not really having anyone to show/teach you proper methods.

Drop in at the Richmond Oval Mon-Fri is pretty good, usually not many people there and the ice is big enough for people to split up and work on things.

For skating, I would work on getting to know your edges - inside and out. There's scads of powerskating videos on youtube, so just look some up and practice as often as you can. I've seen guys go from being very mediocre skaters to being pretty decent in the span of a year purely from getting on the ice and practicing.

Again, there are tons of drills you can do to work on your stick handling, such as:

Just get out there and practice. As someone said, keep your head up, start off slow and work up to doing it at game speed.

Picked up a new bucket and visor yesterday. Went with a classic 4500 and Bauer Pro Straight visor. Same setup as Stamkos, Carter, Toews, etc. I thought it might be uncomfortable at first but after adjusting the fit and using it today, highly recommended!

I just picked them both up at SportChek due to convenience, but you can pretty much get both pieces anywhere.

Anyone looking to sell a RH, 75-77 flex, p88 curve (preferred, but open to try other patterns)???
