I would so go but its to far for me sadly, why can't something be closer :( |
In that case Hockey Community | Greatest Social Network for Hockey Players Another buddy of mine runs this site. Sign up and you get emails regarding various drop ins throughout the week all over the lower mainland |
Thanks, seems like a decent app Posted via RS Mobile |
how do you guys wash your gear? elbow/shins |
I actually just washed my shins/elbows/shoulders today and this was my process: 1. Fill bath tub with warm water and add one scoop of oxyclean 2. Soak gear for half an hour 3. Scrub with a brush and rinse with water 4. Air dry outside |

i have never washed pants as they have never smelled bad... I have removable lining for my shin guards so those are easy to wash. Honestly, if you air dry all the time, you shouldn't have to wash your gear more than once a year. |
Never toss your gear in the dryer as well |

A goalie buddy of mine was telling me about this, but I never registered. Your link gave me no excuse not to do it now. Quote:
I spent 3 hours on the ice yesterday, and a total of 8 hours since monday, so my gear gets stank. Every 2-3 months I launder my chest protector, knee pads, glove, and a few other things on the steam function in the washer. The gear comes out smelling clean, and other than a little bit of wrinkling on my glove, it's all good. In fact, it makes breaking in a glove a lot easier when it's been washed. Honestly, I don't have my gear for longer than 18 months so there's no concern about it breaking down long term. If your gear is deteriorating in the washer, you're either buying shitty gear, or the wrong machine settings. |
all this hockey talk makes me wanna get on the ice! lol.. |
Sounds good Hypa, shit this is so exciting and moving quick :fuckyea: I haven't skated in 6 years and I'm so going to suck  |
Doing some early morning drop in tomorrow, 7:30 at RIC! It's free so, waking up a bit early will be bearable. |

Hillcrest on a wednesday night seems doable. 20 skaters is 13 bucks a piece. 269 bucks for an hour, but 1h15m is what i usually find best. Any input? |
i've never been to any. bought next ice skates since i converted my old pair and have yet to skate on them. so sad because i've been dying to use them would be down as long as i don't have any games that night and it's starts at the earliest 10 |
It's not too hard to rent out ice provided there are time slots available. RIC costs are pretty cheap and I've rented ice with just a couple people before. http://www.richmond.ca/__shared/asse...Rates34953.pdf Mon-Fri: 6-11PM: $348 for 1.5 hours, divided between 22 people = ~$15 a person 11pm+: $225 for 1.5 hours, divided between 22 people = ~$10 a person Weekends are cheaper as well. |

i'd be down to play, as well as 2 other friends |
Ok i will call them tmrw and check 1.5 hour prices. RIC is not bad, but Hillcrest as a facility is a lot nicer. I will start a thread tmrw morning to gather people's interest and see what dates work best. |

Haha yeah it's a well kept secret of sorts, but I usually just get to the rink 20-ish minutes early and hop on the ice, no call in. |
