I think I'm going to follow your lead on this.
We have two drying racks, but three of us play in the household. Plus it's a beatch drying out the blocker and trapper.

Time to head out to the hockey shop...

LOL. Sport Chek carries them too bro.
When you heading to THS? I'll come with dude. I got some stuff to return

Get the de-stink/de-crust spray I use too. It REALLY helps with the gloves after you do an initial clean. Keeps them good for weeks.

Henry's shoe/leather repair on Main st by 49th.

Cyclone sends all re-palms to him.

The hockey shop should do it........I don't see why they wouldn't...call and ask for Cecil. See what he says.

Henry's will do the repalm but not the binding. Hockey Shop told me they wouldn't do even do a full repalm anymore, only repairs.

So far only Scoff's has said they'll do a repalm with half the binding in tact for aesthetic purposes but they won't do a full rebinding.

Hey BPH, I grabbed a rocket dryer the other day, and it works awesome!
I had two skates yesterday, and dried my gear in between. It was nice having a night game with dry gear.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Finally picked up these gloves at the Hockeymonkey store in Irvine. Soooooo comfy. After their price and military discount it came to 150bux usd. :)

That store is so fucking dangerous. I almost walked out with half a dozen sticks.

mickz 09-19-2013 07:56 PM

Can't go wrong with the Vapor line of gloves. Snug fit but not restrictive in the wrists.

6thGear. 09-19-2013 11:12 PM

You're gonna love those mitts, but whats the difference between APX vs APX Pro?

I have APX gloves for ice...they are so freaking nice!!:fullofwin:

kristianhay 09-19-2013 11:45 PM

I have the APX Pro's as well - love them. The snug fit with mobility in the wrists feels amazing. Palms are great as well.

APX Pro's have digital palms on them and a different cuff. None of that gimmicky shit.

always preferred the pro lines of bauer gloves over the retail... don't like all the dri fit and bs gimmick crap

isn`t the pros usually with nash palms and the retials are the ones that have digital

mickz 09-20-2013 10:08 PM

The Pro Stock versions of the APX Pro glove usually come with nash. The retail APX Pro has digital.

Anyone have a gopro ever strap it onto their helmets/mask/netcam? Think it was a good idea? I want to get one but afraid it would get blasted off my mask on a high shot or just generally be obstructive.

SumAznGuy 09-27-2013 05:56 PM

I strapped a Contour camera to the side of my helmet during RS Hockey night. I would do it again for drop-in type games, but I dunno if I would do it or if it is legal for league games.

None at the Costco on Production way.
Don't see it listed either.

anybody try the easton v9 yet?

kristianhay 10-03-2013 05:32 PM

I shot around with the V9E for a bit and it felt pretty good. Puck feel was pretty good and I've always liked shooting with the elliptical taper. Long term though, I never trust Easton as (I've said it before) the blade's always seem to get soft and split near the heel.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Mako, so I assume the V9 feels similar to that.

That is the biggest downfall for me. Lack of durability. I think most kids buy Easton sticks for 2 reason, good advertisement, and their parents pay for it.

I will admit, I really want to try the new V series sticks... not the elliptical though, the regular V9... but I am not willing to spend more than 100 bucks on a stick I am pretty sure won't last 2 months.

im curious how u guys break sticks so easily, either u take like 100000 slapshopts a day or u dunno how to shoot properly. all composite sticks iv ever owned lasted > 6 months

how long have you been playing? what is your weight?

I haven't broken any sticks lately, but when I did it was primarily Easton. face of the blade where the puck contact would get soft and crack... Over the years, bauer has improved drastically, durability wise, which started with the Bauer one95. Base is also very very durable.

I haven't owned an Easton in years, but I still hear the horror stories. I go through one stick a year now, but before, I would go through 1 every 2-3 months. I do have to admit that I used to play anywhere from 1-3 times a week, and when I went to stick and puck, I would take A LOT of slapshots.

For a stick to last over 6 months though, I would have to imagine you're not shooting properly (getting a lot behind your shot), not shooting much at all, and/or not getting into corners where you are being hacked or hacking others during a puck battle.

im 5'8 155lbs. i been playing long time about 20 years started in minor hockey. 1 stick a year sounds about right. but if u only have 1 stick and use it for everything games/stick n puck and do that 3x a week then ok it wont last 6 months haha
