No injuries after shots fired in Surrey Monday | Vancouver Sun

Quote:

Surrey RCMP was called to the 7200-block of 120th Street just after 9 p.m. Monday after another report of shots fired.

“Upon police arrival, officers recovered evidence confirming shots had been fired,” Sgt. Dale Carr said. “They spoke to witnesses who advised that the suspect vehicle may have been a silver SUV type of vehicle which fled the area immediately after the shooting.

He said two men who had been eating in a restaurant appear to have been the intended targets. They fled in a blue vehicle before police arrived.

“There is no evidence of injuries at this time and the two males thought to be targeted have not reported the incident to police. Minor property damage was also incurred,” Carr said.

“We will be investigating this matter thoroughly in consultation with our partner agencies.”

He said investigators recovered “a substantial amount of evidence at the scene and believe we will be able to identify some of these people quickly.”

The shooting took place in a busy area of restaurants and stores, increasing concern for police, Carr said.

“Serious Crime investigators are currently sifting through the evidence as well as canvassing the area for more video surveillance and witnesses. This investigation is still in its early stages however Surrey RCMP believes this incident to be linked to the series of Surrey/Delta shootings that have occurred over the past few months,” he said.

Anyone with information on any of the shootings is asked to call the special tip line at 604-915-6566.

3 people capped in a driveby shooting!

25th Ave & 204 St

Isn't that a pretty decent area?

StylinRed 06-11-2015 02:13 AM

204th and 25th? oO does that exist?

204th and 24th does and it's in the middle of nowhere according to google maps

3ppl wtf -_-

It's an expensive area. Like most of Langley, it used to be farmland. In the last 15 years, all that farmland was bought up by the wealthy. There are some really nice homes in the area. But also some older rentals. Fernridge, which is around 200th and 24th is a bit of a hood. Lots of "old Langley" around the area. Brookswood boys who never left, guys running grows, and lots of fencing of stolen property. It's pretty remote, so you have the privacy that criminals love.

I'm curious to hear more about that one.

Two men injured in Surrey after shots fired - News1130

Quote:

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – There has been another shooting in Surrey, the second in as many nights.

Shortly after 10pm, shots were fired between two cars on Highway 10 near 186th. When officers arrived, they found casings and two homes in the area were hit by the flying bullets.

Two young men, who police believe were targeted, showed up at a nearby hospital with gunshot related non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have located an SUV they believe is connected to the incident but are still looking for silver Pontiac Vibe.

Officers are not able to say whether this shooting is linked to the other shootings that have been identified as low level drug trade turf war. Just a few days ago, 20 of the 100 new RCMP officers promised to Surrey by the federal government were deployed to help crack down on the recent spike in violence.

These aren't wannabes, these are cold-blooded capitalists

punkwax 06-15-2015 08:19 PM

No... they're dumbasses with access to weapons.

multicartual 06-15-2015 08:23 PM

If they're dumbasses shouldn't it be easier to shut this shit down?

The Government?

punkwax 06-15-2015 08:27 PM

Unfortunately, dumbasses outnumber the people who should shut them down.

Sadly, at times it's best to let them thin out their own numbers.

only thing thats thinning out at this point is ammo.. they have to hit someone for their numbers to start thinning

vitaminG 06-15-2015 09:23 PM

pretty sure the RCMP doesnt like looking like morons allowing brazen shootings to happen on a regular basis in their largest detachment.

i dont think their just standing back and waiting for it to stop at this point

StylinRed 06-16-2015 12:29 AM

they have been for the last several years so...

68style 06-16-2015 03:25 AM

^ totally and completely false why even say that if you don't know anything whatsoever about the topic?

Youve got no idea how much work goes on behind the scenes and how many times the police intervene to stop things when informants tell them shit is going down, etc

I was saying the samething to my wife. When all that shit with the Red Scorpions and the UN Gang was happening they were shooting at each other and most the time they were actually hitting someone. There has been a shooting almost every other day not many casualties considering.

Based on past quotes from the heads of the different forces and the continued line they regurgitate to the media, the fact there are no results, as well as past employment for a crown prosecutor, and defense attorney... they don't give a puck

Granted its not exactly hands on knowledge nor is it up to date, but things don't seem to have changed at all

If you hit someone and they die, that leads to a murder charge and then you're stuck in prison for the rest of your days like that crooked-eye Bacon. :crazy2:

These fools are just shooting in the general area of their enemies. Hoping to scare them while flexing pew pew muscle. Murder puts you away for life. Anything else (trafficking, firearms offenses...)you can get released from prison. You learn from the mistakes of others in the same business. Even drug business.

Well I work in a section that does active surveillance on all these guys and what you're saying discredits millions of dollars of work that goes into exactly the opposite... And of course the police care if these guys shoot at each other, maybe they're all a bunch of scumbags but if someone innocent dies as a result that's a lot of motivation to care what's happening and do something about it.

If you worked in that field previously you should be very familiar with what a "duty to warn" is and how many of them are carried out on a monthly basis.
