i have to think that part of the problem is because RCMP takes officers from all over canada and many of them dont have connections with our local community arent as in tune with the issues we have here. it would be nice to know what percentage of surrey RCMP are from the lower mainland.

As i said before.. you dont need to implement all these crazy other laws like the C-10 bill, etc.

Simply have mandatory 2 year sentences for individuals caught with firearms they arent legally allowed to have, period.

If you have a gun in your possession, with no PAL, with no reasoning behind it, in broad daylight, you're going to jail, period.
the gang war in 2009? did you forget?

Also, have you not been watching the news about mandatory minimal being toss out left right and center due it being unconstitutional?

All these little kids are shooting at each other taking advice from guys in jail or away in another province. and then when they go to jail they get their asses kicked and check in. But hey, they learn how to wall-bang

the training is the same and when you work the same shithole for 6 months you pick up on things. On top of that, the majority of surrey are from lower mainland. No one else wants to come here if they haven't experience our cost of living from a national deployment standpoint.

Shooting in Richmond

BCLocalNews.com - Man killed after shooting at Richmond Tim Hortons

Quote:
A man is dead after a daylight shooting in front of the Tim Hortons restaurant on Steveston Highway in Richmond on Saturday evening.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. in the busy Coppersmith Corner mall on Steveston Highway, just a half block from the RCMP detachment on No. 5 Road.

As of 9:30 p.m., the area remained cordoned off with police tape, and an ambulance remained parked at the scene along with several police officers.

The victim was taken to hospital after being shot in the head, but did not survive, a source told Black Press. Police have not yet confirmed that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you finish training in Regina for RCMP, you put in a list of places that you would like to go. Most get where they want. I know 3 local guys that came back after training.

It depends if you're "attached" to the area or not I beleive. As in owning property, having a family, etc.

Knew a guy who I grew up with recently who had none of those things and was sent to butt fuck Saskatchewan

A lot of "new" developers basically take money from 20 people and promising big returns. When those returns don't come your list of enemies grows. Not seeing this was the case in this murder but some of these developers are shady as fuck.

Victim identified as Amarjit Singh Sandhu

Developer Amarjit Singh Sandhu, 56, dead after 'targeted' shooting in Richmond, B.C. - British Columbia - CBC News

Quote:
Police have identified the 56-year-old man shot in Richmond, B.C., Saturday night as a prominent developer, Amarjit Singh Sandhu.

Amar Singh Sandhu volunteering for the Guru Nanak Temple's free kitchen in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside in November 2010. (CBC)

Sandhu died in hospital after the parking lot shooting left his truck riddled with bullets. Police say he was targeted.

RCMP were called to the 11300 block of Steveston Highway shortly after 6 p.m. PT Saturday after reports that a man was shot in a Tim Hortons parking lot near the Ironwood Plaza.

Police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, and reported several bullet holes in the driver's side door of a black pickup truck.

Targeted shooting

The attack is targeted, police said in a written release on Sunday.

"The act of homicide is one that is selfish and cold," said Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT)

"There is an extra element of concern when one chooses to commit this crime in such a bold and brazen manner in a very public setting."

No one else was injured.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation from Richmond RCMP.

Sandhu is listed as president of Sandhill Developments Ltd, with main offices located across from where he was shot.

He and the company are named in more than 80 civil lawsuits in B.C. dating back to the 1990s.

Police are calling the June 4 shooting of Amar Singh Sandhu 'targeted' and 'brazen.' (Shane MacKichan)

In a recent case, Sandhu took the Khalsa Diwan Society to court. His actions led to an election being called for leaders at the Ross Street Sikh temple in Vancouver, scheduled for September.

An official with the party opposed to changes Sandu was seeking at the temple believes the shooting is unrelated.

"To my knowledge just for the sake of an election nobody would take such a big risk," said Ranjit Hayer with the Khalsa Diwan Society.

Ranjit Hayer with the Khalsa Diwan Society says he does not believe the shooting of Amarjit Singh Sandhu is related to disagreements at the Ross Street Temple in Vancouver, one of which has ended up in court. (CBC)

People at the temple registering to vote in the elections say that Sandhu was at the temple before he went to Richmond and was gunned down.

"He came, he was talking nice, you know," said Joginder Singh Sunner also with the Khalsa Diwan Society. "Then all of the sudden we heard the news that he got shot. That's terrible news. We have ... sympathy for the family."

Police are urging anyone with information about the death to contact them.
Obviously a straight edge dude

Shooting of Vancouver gangster Sukh Deo in Toronto ?targeted,? police seek witnesses | Globalnews.ca

Quote:
Police are asking witnesses to come forward in the “targeted” daytime shooting of an alleged Vancouver gangster in midtown Toronto, releasing limited information on the suspects or the victim’s criminal past and admitting their investigation is operating within a “vacuum.”

Thirty-five-year-old Sukhvir Singh Deo, known to family and friends as “Sukh,” was gunned down at close range while sitting in a white Range Rover on Cowbell Lane, near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue, just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Two suspects were seen fleeing the area but police have not provided descriptions of them other than that they were wearing construction vests and fled in a 2001 to 2003 black Honda Civic.

“This was absolutely a targeted shooting,” Homicide Det.-Sgt. Joyce Schertzer told reporters at a news conference Thursday.

“I can tell you that he wasn’t a member of this community, it wasn’t a random shooting, it was targeted.”

Several members of the Deo family, including Sukh, were well-known to police in Metro Vancouver. His brother Harjit Singh Deo was convicted in 2007 for a 2005 kidnapping for ransom in which the victim was held inside the Deo family home in New Westminster.

Sukh Deo made headlines in May when he was escorted out of his courtside seat at a Toronto Raptors playoff game for heckling referees.

A police source told Global News that Deo moved to Ontario in 2013 was known to investigators in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland as being affiliated with the Independent Soldiers gang and was suspected of being involved in cocaine trafficking.
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, with the B.C. Combined Forces Special Enforcement, told Global News Deo was aligned with several people in leadership positions of the notorious B.C. gang, which extends into the “shell company” criminal organization known as the Wolf Pack.

“People who would self identify as being a part of the Wolf Pack even though they may belong to other gangs such as the Hells Angels, do have a presence in Ontario, they have a presence almost entirely across Canada,” Houghton said.

“If history tells us anything, especially here in British Columbia, when we have individuals — no matter where they are placed on the gang hierarchy if you will — any time one of them is a victim of violence, whether its murder or attempt on their life, in the past 10 years we’ve seen tit for tat reprisals.”

Houghton said that police in B.C. regularly work closely with other police jurisdictions across the country in targeting violent gangs like the Independent Soldiers and Wolf Pack, adding that they had been “very actively communicating with them on sharing intelligence.”

“I can tell you that he was known to police. All I can say is he had no prior contact with the Toronto Police Service, but that he was known to the police,” Schertzer said in response to questions about Deo’s gang affiliations.

“At this time and point in the investigation this is all that I’m prepared to release to the public and I understand that we’re operating in somewhat of a vacuum but I would really like and appreciate information on this vehicle.”

Schertzer said Deo was visiting friends or “socializing” at the time of the shooting and he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Deo’s father, Parminder Singh Deo, is also wanted in an Interpol warrant from India with charges including narcotic drug smuggling, forgery, thefts, and criminal conspiracy.
