yup that's the pic and was the officer, there's two snapchat clips showing the police chasing after a black Mustang ramming into it and then you hear gunshots at the car which has to be the suspect.

originalhypa 11-06-2017 02:25 PM

What a shame.
This is straight out of vice city. What kind of person shoots at the cops?!

Bouncing Bettys 11-06-2017 02:33 PM

So glad my gf wasn't scheduled to work today as she drives throught that intersection mutiple times in a shift. I can't imagine how terrifying that would have been for the people in the hit jeep or other nearby vehicles.

J-Chow 11-06-2017 02:38 PM

Apparently, it was reported a mustang was stolen on Saturday from the local Ford Dealership during a test drive.

The same employees who witnessed the theft Saturday, spotted the same car today and called it in.

One Abbotsford PD Member murdered, another one injured. Suspect in custody, in hospital.

SoulCrusher 11-06-2017 08:01 PM

They should've killed that piece of shit. Can't rely on our judicial process to get things right

Hondaracer 11-06-2017 08:25 PM

SKS in hand

iwantaskyline 11-06-2017 08:55 PM

Seems like Abbotsford get's a lot of trash from Alberta. First that crazy guy who killed that highschool student and now this shooting.

tegra7 11-07-2017 12:02 AM

He'll be out in a few years with a new identity, just like the asshole that sawed a guys head off in Winnipeg on a greyhound bus. Canada's justice system is a joke.

StylinRed 11-07-2017 01:33 AM

And the idiotic comments about the justice system roll in

J-Chow 11-07-2017 01:51 PM

1st degree murder of a peace officer.

I'm going to say he gets "life" with a chance of parole in 25 years.

Oscar Arfmann charged with murder following death of Abbotsford police officer

Oscar Arfmann has been charged in connection with Monday’s fatal shooting of an Abbotsford police officer.

Arfmann has been charged with first-degree murder following a shootout on Mt. Lehman Road that claimed the life of Const. John Davidson.

Police said Monday that the suspect was an Alberta man in his 60s.

A person at the scene shared a photo of the suspect with Global News.

Sister-in-law Pamela Arfmann told Global News that Oscar is a retired truck driver, who was believed to be living in a motor home in B.C.

Last year, he sold a property in the area of St. Paul, Alberta before coming to the province to stay with family.

She said Oscar had been struggling with mental health issues since his wife’s death.

“He lost his wife about three years ago and he’s just gone off since then,” Pamela said. “He hasn’t been the same since he lost his wife.

“He talked to himself a lot. And he was just not, it’s hard to explain, he was just not the same person. He talked about demons and stuff like that too, that he was demon-possessed at times.”

Isn't that the maximum sentence? I don't think there is a true "life" sentence in Canada without the possibility of parole after 25 years. Only if it is a multiple body case and tried separately. Most would get denied unless they had exceptional behavior and posed no risk to the public at the time of the review.

Mental health strikes again! I mean no sane person is going to act the way he did so I guess that offers some explanation, although it does not offer any excuses and he should be held accountable to the fullest extent.

thumper 11-07-2017 03:43 PM

the man is in his late 60's according to the latest news on the radio.... he might die of old age in jail before seeing parole, unless the courts label him not guilty because of some form of mental illness.

He's from Alberta

That is considered a mental illness

Home invasion in aldergrove last night. One person shot. More criminals criminalling on each other I suppose. Long as they keep it confined to that, I'm not too worried.

I live one block over from there. Didn't hear or see anything but the Aldergrove fb page was blowing up.

A couple weeks ago my gf was making dinner when she spotted someone in the backyard. He realised she saw him, knocked on the kitchen window and gave a quick wave before moving out of view. It was dark and she couldn't make out his face. I ran outside and didn't see anyone or any signs someone had been there. We've had someone cut through our yard before and thought nothing of it. Now I really hope he wasn't casing our place for a similar home invasion.

welfare 11-09-2017 06:44 PM

Eh. Said victim was known to police. Kinda figure it was someone who the perps may have known or had knowledge something was in there. Maybe dope. I dunno. But IMO, these guys don't usually do a home invasion on civilians. They'd just do a b&e instead since that would be less risky. Just my opinion though
