Man killed, two arrested in South Surrey shooting
Quote:

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – One person is dead and two are arrested after a shooting at the Southpoint Exchange Mall around 152 Street and 32 Street.

Surrey RCMP responded and found one man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was attended to by BC Emergency Health Services, but they were unable to revive him.

The two suspects attempted to flee the scene, first in a vehicle and then on foot, before being arrested.

The shooting took place in the drive-thru of a financial institution around 9:20 a.m. on Friday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is taking over the investigation.

A man at the scene says the victim was driving a blue Viper. Others have described seeing a black SUV driving away from the scene after shots were fired.

“I was in the parking lot, I was at the Canadian Tire when it happened and walked over and checked on the guy,” he says. “But he didn’t pull through.”

Meantime, another witness says they saw a police cruiser chase down a vehicle shortly after shots were fired in the area of 152 Street and 88 Avenue.

Jesus. I thought Southpoint (and Fleetwood) was a relatively safer area. I used to have an older client who liked to meet at the Starbucks at Southpoint. There was always 10-12 gang cops sitting there for lunch or smt. Ironic that it happened there.

Indo-Canadian Hells Angel Suminder Grewal Shot Dead In South Surrey Gangland Hit - DesiBuzzBC

Rumor has it ha ordered the hit because he was making money on the side.

Mr.Money 08-02-2019 04:47 PM

if he was making deals on the side he had a crew right? or was this just plain greed by one person?
you think if a gang did that to their boss who was making money for everyone else they would be looking for heads on a stick?.

if that's true, its not a good idea at all when you're roaming around in leather patched gear standing out like a sore thumb in a little play house with signs saying "we are right here"

hope those guys didn't kick an ants nest,it can also turn into a race war if these other gangs popping off east indian folks,it could turn real sour like that fast.

Arguable that the DTES shootings are of the same type of targets per se as the usual ones in Surrey i.e. the one in Clayton Heights this past weekend; the one at New Mandarin is likely also of a different target than the DTES

I assume there was another shooting in Surrey. At around 4:45, I counted about 12+ cop cars coming from SB King George, turning right onto EB 64Ave.

SURREY (NEW 1130) — One man has been arrested after a woman was found dead inside a Surrey home Friday afternoon.

Police were called to 122nd Street and 58th Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

One man is currently in custody.

“The incident was contained to the inside of the residence. Police believe there is no ongoing concern for public safety at this time and that both parties are believed to be known to each other. There is no indication that this incident is related to gang involvement,” says Cpl. Elenore Sturko of Surrey RCMP.

Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Surrey residents called in to NEWS 1130 Friday afternoon to report multiple police cars speeding through the area with sirens and lights.

Gerardo was in the area where police tape surrounded the home and called NEWS 1130 to tell us what he saw.

“Right after the corner there, because, once you go in, there’s a cul-de-sac. I don’t know if there’s a street name, per se, but the second house seems to be taped.”

“They have […] dogs and it looks busy.”

The road leading up to the building was blocked off Friday evening.

Wow, this thread has been so dead lately.

Great news, or we're just all desensitized by now.

Perhaps thugs are taking the COVID situation seriously enough to wait until they can get close enough to shoot their intended victims. Good on them??

There's been a few shootings that never made it onto this thread.
But overall, it feels like the gang related shootings are down this year.
