If the convictions are high it will deter people, if people aren't even getting arrested for it, or convicted for it when they are arrested, ppl won't give a shit, same with covid violations ppl dgaf cuz almost no one is getting a ticket, and even less will be paying em that do get a ticket, and then those won't really care because the fine is nominal
Hard to say. Look at capitol punishments for certain crimes. People will still murder or import drugs.

Guy in the car is dead, I saw a video last night of the cops pulling him out of the car and laying him on the ground which he laid with a tarp on him for a couple hours.

the craziest thing to me right now is if you're a so called "Gangster" you're still walking outside naked???....and it's being said so many times before "if you are friends with these gangs you will be killed" and there all walking about with no care in the world?...
man you think these criminal's are dumb with they're air head friends, but imagine the lack of resources is really showing who's the dumbest at this point.
The sad reality is money in the drug trade is too lucrative and there's nothing the community or police can do to prevent kids from joining gangs or selling drugs. As long as there's buyers, they'll be suppliers. If one person gets killed, they'll be plenty others who want to take the top spot.
And every time there's gang violence I read comments that the gov't should legalize all drugs but it's not going to make a difference. Marijuana got legalized but the illegal Marijuana market is still booming.
The difference with the hard drugs though is that presumably if the dose is the same the clean opiates would always be preferred over any street level stuff

This is because most of the product gets sold to USA, until the USA goes the legalization route (re: probably never) it will be the main breadwinner for gangs no matter how much legalizing Canada does.
