both those getaway vehicles have the notorious Honda V6 and automatic transmission combo, it would be awesome if the trans decided to pack it in during the getaway

They are getting guns from legal gun owners. Not surprised.

I would hardly consider someone that gets a freshly minted PAL and then buying 8 glocks that they're going to flip to someone for a profit "legal gun owners".

These clowns are getting charged and rightfully so.

Legal gun owners aren't the ones going out and using the guns for shootings.

^ it just doesn't really make a lot of sense how this can even happen. Pistols and many semi auto/tactical rifles are all restricted and registered. So the RCMP can literally see if someone has purchased multiple restricted firearms in a suspicious manner. They can go and verify they are being properly stored. In addition any illegally possessed firearm can be traced back to the straw purchaser who would obviously be connected to the criminals who posseses it.

So as far as I can tell the police have the ability to easily crack down on straw purchases but lack the will to do so

So your saying just because you have a pal does not make you a legal gun owner?

Do you want the police coming to your house every month to check on you?

I'm saying that regular legal gun owners are not the problem that you're making it seem like they are. They aren't the ones illegally selling to these gangsters. This small subsection is not indicative of the over whelming majority of gun owners.

If someone gets their pal and immediately buys 8 Glocks then that should raise some red flags and warrant some police inquiry. Clearly they lack the resources to regularly check on every pal holder

So the government should limit the number of guns you can buy in a year?
I'm sure the CCFR would be happy with that.

Are you familiar with the expression "raising red flags"? It does not mean that a specific activity should be banned. It just means that the suspicious behavior should result in greater scrutiny.

So who should be checking for red flags? The police who are already understaffed in many places or should the government set up a new agency for this?

^ there's already a chief firearms officer in each province and a national Canadian firearms registry for restricted firearms so I would imagine they would be the ones monitoring individual purchases. Considering they wasted over $2b on the long gun registery and are planning on spending $0.4-0.6b (govt estimates) they should redistribute some of those resources to law enforcement, forensics and border security.

Shooting in San Jose rail yard, multiple deaths, including suspect. Looks like a workplace shooting situation.

Anyone know if that whole commotion in Stanley park last night was gang related? Lions Gate bridge shut down by cops with semi-automatics, stanley park closed off, helicopters doing their thing. Haven't heard anything on the news or WhatsApp news.

From Reddit:

Quote:
A silver mustang sped down Taylor way, ran a red & turned onto the bridge. 7+ cop cars followed closely behind. When I left downtown there was an undercover cop waiting for southbound traffic and more lights / sirens following. This was at ~10:30
Quote:
I live at Davie and Denman my place faces the the street and *can confirm 13 unmarked units and one Cadillac Escalade suv unmarked doing 100-120km down davie right to the corner turning towards denman then down beach avenue then flying into Stanley park sirens and lights on* full never seen so many unmarked units going that fast for a car chase from all over the city something tells me it’s gang related due to the response and the amount of them they were usually 1 minute apart so I’m assuming they called units from all over the city.

Apparently, people had to go through six road blocks to get out of that area and they still came up empty-handed.

Not local, no shootings, but the police over on the east coast keep fucking up their major busts... The ndrangheta mafia bust, and the multimillion dollar casino/laundering case with ties to vancouver

Thanks to shoddy police work, theft, and planting of evidence ffs

^ ya you can't even blame RCMP, is a Canadian police thing. Canada is just a great market for crime. Pretty impressive actually national and multi ethnic groups with international ties. Diversity is our strength

^Think it just gives more credence to what people have alleged.

Bought and paid for coordinators within levels of policing and the judicial system.

We see it here quite clearly in BC, it's only accelerated even further back East.
