Total shit show all around. Getting stabbed for telling someone not to vape around you, right in front of your family. Guy filming you die with the commentary I'd expect from someone like that, and another dude just chilling out a few feet from you bleeding out like "nothing to see here".

I can see this becoming more and more normal. No one is going to help you but plenty of people will feel safe enough to whip their phone out and film it.

I went to a medical building at Davie and pender and had to wait in the parkade for my appointment, as I sat in my car I saw 2 native guys smoking crack shadow boxing the concrete columns while occasionally threatening old women passing by etc.

If they had jumped some woman coming in, I’ll call 9/11 but I’m not risking my own personal safety because this city has gone to shit.

I saw the video and you could tell everyone around was in complete shock. What are you supposed to do? The guy basically had a mini sword who stabbed someone for no reason of course you would get stabbed as well. It's so easy to put blame on others for not helping but the damage is done, what help can you give?

You don't need to tackle the guy to the ground but instead of filming the situation going "oh he's dead bro. Bro he's dead. Bro." maybe use such a device to call for help.

Doesn't sound like he just said "Please stop vaping" and then the guy stabbed him. They started arguing. Tempers flared and they decided to have what he thought was going to be a fist fight but the other guy pulled out a knife.

Interestingly this story is being printed on Indian new sites pointing out this guy is pro-khalistan (an independent Punjab movement).

I don't know if this is true but from the story I read the guy was holding his daughter and told the guy to stop vaping, and from there they started getting into an argument and the guy holding his kid said he would kick his ass if he didn't or something along those lines. Apparently the guy with the knife told the other guys wife he better take their kid right now and when she did the two guys started getting into a fight and then the dude pulled out the knife and stabbed him.

A witness on Reddit claimed the victim challenged the suspect to a fight and handed his kid over to his wife before getting stabbed. Still a senseless murder that could have been avoided.
