Don't forget about Moxies, I've been in there eating when the table next to us was taken down at gunpoint by the gang squad. I had to piss and they wouldn't let me get up until they escorted half of them out in cuffs.

makes my experience when i was a kid at dim sum and a bunch of asian guys walked in to a table next to us flipping tables and tossing tea cups and chopsticks seem tame :lol

never thought of moxies as a gangster destination, i always put it in the category as swiss chalet and white spot, a place for families and seniors :lol

Speaking of that, I tried that for the first time not too long ago at Cactus. I mean, it's salty as fuck and I don't understand why everyone was raving about it?

The dish wasn't that tasty or even innovative at all. I could literally make it myself with enough butter and spices. Do people not eat out, like at all outside of burger/fries joints?

Don't forget Shark Club. I witnessed a shooting there many years back. Lucky no one was hit. Just some weakling who got beat going back to his car getting a gun and shooting it in the air.

As gangster as some of these pho places may be, I do not recall any incidents stemming from Asian thugs patronizing any of them.

The old Pelican on Hastings is the one that I recall had a gang related incident. Still decent food for east van though
