COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) - No one was hurt in Metro Vancouver's latest shooting. It happened around 11 p.m. near Farrow Street and Smith Avenue in Coquitlam. Several shots were fired at a home. RCMP Sergeant Alex Borden says the shooting covered a lot of ground. "To try and narrow it down to a specific area, we had reports from all the way from Clarke Road to North Road to Farrow Street. But this was an incident that took place over a bit of area." Police also found several shell casings on the ground. The shooting was not a targeted hit. However, Mounties say it's too early in the investigation to confirm whether the home is known to them or what the motive might have been. |

No one hurt in latest exchange of gunfire COQUITLAM/CKNW(AM980) Lara Fominoff Email news tips to Lara 3/7/2009 RCMP say it's incredible that no one was injured or killed. And after the latest shooting around 11:30 Friday night in Coquitlam, Corporal Peter Thiessen says it's sad to see how some young people are dealing with their problems now, "Teenagers, 20 something young men involved in some type of dispute, and they simply pull a handgun that they have readily available, in their vehicle. It's pretty concerning. They don't seem to care one way or another." Thiessen says an argument of some kind broke out at a McDonald's restaurant parking lot on Clark Road. One of the men involved got a handgun from his vehicle and fired off anywhere from 8 to 12 shots at another group of men. One of those shots happened to go right through the window of a nearby home and lodge into the wall of the home. Thiessen says it's amazing no one was hurt or killed. It's not clear if this is gang related, and there is no suspect description at this time. |
Wow, I live so close to that McDonalds..... and that McDonalds is the street infront of the last Coquitlam shooting at Dennis something's house...... Cottonwood gangsters? |
I can't believe this thread made it to page 2. Anyways, another shooting last night on Kingsway "VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Vancouver Police have Kingsway Ave. closed between Earles St. and Slocan St. while they investigate Metro Vancouver’s latest shooting. The shots fired call came in just before 2:30 a.m. Police say a man in his thirties was hit and is now in hospital with unknown injuries. Witnesses say they saw a Ranger Rover take off eastbound on Kingsway. It’s not known if this shooting has any connection to the rash of shootings that have hit Metro Vancouver since mid-January." http://www.news1130.com/more.jsp?con...09_080850_5044 Kev |

8 to twelve shots at a group of people and hit no one. |
Are these shootings costing a lot of tax money? ie.) Extra police work and even OT and ambulatory services? |

Whatever street cred this guy has as a tough guy just went out the window. 8 - 12 shots and not 1 hit? Does he close his eyes before he shoots? |
