I live at King Edward Village, so that's about four blocks from me.

So the body was there for like probably six hours or more before it was discovered? If the shooting was 1:30am, and it wasn't until the neighbours across the street saw it after waking up...

I guess hundreds if not thousands of cars had passed by it during that time...

I have RPAL and it is not "illegal". The shotgun is non restricted and it is stored unloaded. Do some research first before quoting me doing something illegal.
"A non restricted firearm may be transported so long as it is unloaded.[2]Such a firearm does not need to be encased or trigger locked." quoted from Wikipedia.

^ for restricted firearms. Believe or not but you can use non restricted firearms to defend your life. If you are under life or death situation. Our gun law is usually misunderstood by most Canadians.

you can only transport a restricted firearm (handguns, 'cool' rifles and shotguns) to and from the range. unloaded. locked up

you can basically drive around all you like with an unrestricted firearm (most shotguns and rifles) in your vehicle as long as its out of sight.

The McDonald's restaurant beside the Scott Road SkyTrain has turned into a murder scene.

Police aren't saying how a man was killed at around 6 p.m. Saturday night.

Witnesses have told them there was fight near the bathroom.

"We do have witnesses that have indicated some kind of altercation, at the rear of the restaurant," says RCMP Inspector Dave Attfield.

He says the man died inside the restaurant, but the suspect got away. He's being described as in his 20s, unshaven, wearing dark clothing. Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other.

About 30 people were in and around the restaurant at the time.

SURREY (NEWS1130) - Police are dealing with two homicides less than 12 hours apart. The latest happened early around 5 a.m. in the Clayton Heights neighbourhood of Surrey.

A fight at a home in the residential area of 192nd Street and 69th Avenue ended up with a young man being stabbed. He was rushed to hospital but later died of his injuries.

No word on what caused the fight, but Mounties say they were called to the home a number of times overnight and during the early morning hours, responding to noise complaints.

Several people are being questioned by police. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.
