A Stabbing + A Shooting in Surrey Again (No Deaths)

Quote:

Violence in Surrey leaves city fighting for its image
Two shootings, two stabbings, two days, two dead

SURREY (NEWS1130) - A deadly shooting at a McDonald's on Saturday night followed by a fatal stabbing at a house party. This morning there has been more violence in Surrey and it comes as the city is fighting for its image.

This morning Surrey Mounties search for a suspect who stabbed and robbed a cabbie near King George and 128th and they are on the hunt for Robin Blanchard, a man they believe is armed and dangerous, who may be connected to an early morning shooting near the Guildford Golf Course.

Today's incidents may not be deadly but two this weekend were.

For people living in Surrey, there is new distress about the safety of this community. "I'm concerned about the people that walk the streets at night. You know, they are not safe anymore. The crack problem is getting out of hand and the gangs are getting out of hand. Something has got to change."

The irony of this weekend's violence isn't lost. Today the city unveils winning entries in a design competition that will makeover five town centres in an effort to rebuild a safe and family friendly image.

There was also the murder / suicide in Cloverdale. If I hadn't slept early, I probably could've saw the action, as I'm a block away.

Quote:

In Surrey, two people are dead. Corporal Dale Carr with IHIT says a woman has been fatally shot in Cloverdale in what they believe is a domestic-related murder-suicide. "Just after midnight Surrey RCMP received a report of several shots fired at 67th and 193rd. Upon arriving they found a female lying in the street."

Also in Surrey, people living near 86th and 152nd say a man's body has been found in a truck. They believe this is the woman's husband.

LOL, you live near me I'm a block away as well. I left my house this morning, drove 100 feet and then nothing but yellow tape. I'm on 67a and 194th.

Harvey Specter 06-03-2010 05:36 PM

The Mercedes in the Coquitlam look like a E55/E63. Pretty hefty car for a 20 year old.
