^ it's somewhat of a self fulfilling prophecy. If all the "analysts" say the the economy is in the shitter, everyone will believe it's true and stop spending. When people stop spending, of course the economy is gonna be in the shitter.

Heard on the news that one of the robbers shot at the police when they were trying to get away, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you want to view it, he was shot by the police and died later that night. Stupid thing is, they said he was 15 years old from surrey.....

edit: nvm the kid is just in custody

Not a shooting.. maybe

but there was a murder across the street from Gladstone this morning

http://www.news1130.com/news/local/a...east-vancouver

Quote:
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - One man's been taken into custody after Vancouver's ninth homicide of the year, discovered in a home on Gladstone at Stainsbury, just before 10 this morning.

He's not been arrested, but police say he is considered a suspect.

No identities have been released. Constable Lindsey Houghton with the VPD says investigators are still working on identifying the victim and the suspect among other details. "We don't know the motivation, can't answer for you whether or not this was in any way gang related."

A large part of the grounds at the nearby Gladstone Secondary School was behind yellow crime tape for much of this morning, although class remained in session.

The body was found following a 911 call; it's not clear where that call came from. Police are not confirming earlier reports indicating the victim was stabbed.

Police expect to be on scene well into this evening.

AND there was a murder in Surrey which was a shooting

Quote:
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the 51-year-old gunned down on 24 Avenue in south Surrey as Randall Davis.

Davis was due in court on drug charges just hours after the shooting.

IHIT's Cpl. Dale Carr is hoping anyone who saw the suspected get-away car, a 1998 green four-door Acura Integra, will call the IHIT tipline at 1-877-551-IHIT.

While Davis had some history with police, he was not well-known. And the suspect didn't seem well-prepared either in that he car-jacked his escape vehicle.

they almost always are targeted but that doesn't mean no1 not targeted won't get hurt (i actually find it very silly when the police make it a point to say it was targeted)

BURNABY (NEWS1130) - A shooting at Metrotown Mall in Burnaby has left at least one person dead.

Police aren't providing any details. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Unit is on site, investigating.

Callers have been telling us it happened at a parking lot in the eastern part of the mall. One caller says he saw the driver's side window of a vehicle shot out. Another caller says he saw bullet holes in the windshield. The Vancouver Sun is saying a man was gunned down in front of his family.

This store manager is at the mall and says the parking near Kingsway and Nelson is closed off, and people who parked there are not allowed to leave. "Now they are trying to get witnesses to tell them what happened, but some witnesses are not wanting to talk because they are scared for their lives."

The homicide unit will have more details later this evening. Stay with News1130 for updates.

Just throwing this out there... of all the places for a "targeted hit" seems weird to me they would pick a location which it littered with people/camera's etc.

Pretty sure I wouldnt go out of my way like this to help police build a case against me lol

So it sounds like the guy who was killed was this guy

http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/s...d-35646696dfa7

Gurmit Singh Dhak

it's suspected to be him because Kim Bolan says its a 32 year old guy well known to police who has been charged with Manslaughter in the past and had had attempts on his life

+ based on comments like "rip gurm" etc in the comments section people believe it to be that guy
