How are you not safe? I don't think in any of these shootings in the past 3 years and innocent bystanders were ever hurt

Since when do gangsters take the skid train?

gangsters do, they're prime dealing grounds and easy get away routes; in regards to bystanders within the last 3years im quite sure there were a couple, but i cant recall them exactly, i'll try searching
it's just like a few years ago there were bystanders hurt but you only heard about it in subsequent news articles, they weren't sensationalized

oh yea off the top of my head, i think that party that got shot up and 10ppl ish got hit sure there were gangsters there at the party but not all of them were

Police probe fatal shooting in White Rock
Date: Wednesday Mar. 23, 2011 3:08 PM PT

Mounties are investigating a fatal shooting near Crescent Beach in White Rock.

RCMP spokesman Cpl. Drew Grainger said the incident happened in the 2000-block of McBride Avenue, just two blocks back from the popular beach and boardwalk.

Grainger said it is believed one person was shot and the investigation is "very active."

Images captured from CTV's Chopper 9 show a person lying face up in front of a home with "Casa Linda" written on the awning entrance. Multiple police and medical teams can be seen around the home.

An online real estate listing for the "Casa Linda" shows the listing price at $1.65 million. The home was sold in April 2010.

More to come…

Mounties shoot and kill man in White Rock

One man is dead after being shot by Mounties near Crescent Beach in White Rock.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the 3000-block of McBride Avenue, just two blocks back from the popular beach and boardwalk.

RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen said police were called to the home to attend to an emergency call, but would not elaborate on the nature of the call. Three officers were confronted by one adult man at the scene.

Thiessen said he did not know how many shots were fired.

The Vancouver Police Department has been called in to investigate the shooting.

Arrests in Tuesday's Burnaby Shooting

By Kim Bolan 23 Mar 2011 COMMENTS(2) The Real Scoop

Filed under: shooting, Real Scoop, Kim Bolan, Vancouver Sun, Burnaby RCMP

Burnaby RCMP are recommending charges against two teens and a 22-year-old arrested after the rush-hour shooting at the Royal Oak Skytrain station Tuesday. One of the arrests is pictured left in this RCMP handout photo.

The 22-year-old was the gunman, Sgt. Ted De Jager said. Names of the two older suspects will be released when they are formally charged and make their first appearance. The identity of the youngest suspect, whose 15, is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Three men arrested in Royal Oak SkyTrain shooting

Police will be recommending charges of attempted murder against one of the men
VANCOUVER -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a daytime shooting at Royal Oak SkyTrain station Tuesday afternoon.

A 22-year-old Surrey man believed to be the shooter, along with an 18-year-old from Burnaby and a 15-year-old from an undetermined area, were arrested around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after a short pursuit, said Sgt. Ted De Jager of the Burnaby RCMP.

"When we attempted to arrest them [at a Surrey residence] they attempted to flee in a vehicle," De Jager said. "They abandoned that vehicle and a short foot pursuit with the three of them ensued and they were arrested together."

Police will be recommending charges of attempted murder against the 22-year-old, De Jager said. Charges are pending against the other two suspects.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday after a 22-year-old Surrey man was shot while ascending the stairs to the central Royal Oak SkyTrain station platform. The man, who suffered non-life-threatening-injuries, then boarded a train to Edmonds station, where police attended to him.

De Jager said it is too early to say whether there are any links to drugs or gangs.

"We know that it was a targeted shooting but exactly what their relationship to each other is, and what they're involved in, that's something that we'll have to continue to investigate," De Jager said.

De Jager did not know if the victim was being cooperative with police.

Another Fatal Police Shooting in Surrey

By Kim Bolan 23 Mar 2011 COMMENTS(3) The Real Scoop

Just weeks after Adam Purdie was fatally shot when he pointed a gun at a Surrey RCMP officer, another Surrey man has been killed in a police shooting.

Vancouver Police are now investigating the shooting. Const. Lindsey Houghton said RCMP responded to a 911 call about 2 p.m. from a female asking for help with domestic dispute. Neighbours reported seeing a woman flee from the house and jump over a neighbour's fence.
Quote:
Thiessen could not confirm neighbourhood rumours that the situation had been a domestic dispute and the man had been waving a gun when police arrived.
