Wow, I grew up in that area and all my friends are from mob town...still remember Ranj rolling around when I was a teenager, he was a true OG but I guess his lifestyle finally caught up to him.

yah, ranj was a top dogg. Lot of the cocaine that came up here had something to do with him in one way or another but the life definitely caught up... live by the gun, die by the gun

So it turns out my coworker's Aunt called the cops on today's shooting. Her grandma used to live like..three houses down or something. Small world.

News says he didn't seem to realize time changes everything and tried to re-assume whatever role he had before his stint in prison and got those who replaced him angry

South Vancouver has produced so many gangsters from years past that I've lost count how many of them are dead, in jail or on the run. And most of these gangsters who got killed or fled weren't balling out of control, they made what anyone with a normal job would have made in a year so was it worth the lifestyle? Nope.

exactly, the problem is they likely get caught up when they're younger where that money seems inconceivable because all they really know about a job is working at mcdonalds so they're sucked in and they end up getting stuck

Do gangsters associate with mainland fobs? Like, for example, can the two become friends?
Imagine MM Design were friends with the bacon brothers. Perhaps, maybe they are already buddies, no?
Hells Angels protect mm design fobs and in return mm gives up a portion of their profit.

Lol my grandma is literally 2 houses down from the place. Guy had security cameras surrounding the house iirc. There are so many douchey heat bags in that neighbourhood but it's not necessarily dangerous. Maybe this story will convince my grandma to move in with us...

I remember a few years ago, a block near the Little India area of Southeast Vancouver had those huge concrete blocks positioned in the middle of it, so as to prevent a drive-by.

Same block Ujjal lives on and the guy the cops were trying to protect was killed a few years back, he was one of the founders of sunset boys now known as "IS", his other brother was killed in an car accident like a year later and the other brother's gf committed suicide by jumping off the knight st bridge.

So you're exactly my brothers age, you probably knew him. We used to live right across the street from mob town ... a bit of a digression but that areas really cleaned up now compared to what it once was. I remember looking out my window on halloween and just seeing a line of 30-40 scary looking kids wearing hoodies sitting on that front fence lol

^^ I think he's talking about 54th ave just east of fraser street, I remember the barricades being there for awhile

Wow, I used to work for Tom at Illusions.
I spent about a week there as an installer before I realized that he was a dangerous individual and moved on. Interesting to see time catching up on these guys.
