Shaq wanted to get 100 million for 3 years some absurd number. Shaq towards the end of his Laker days always showed up overweight and was more interested in making movies than actually playing. He used the regular season to play himself to game shape then when the playoffs rolled around he was either dealing with an injury or always slugging along. Buss made the right choice in the end, Shaq ended up winning one more in Miami while Kobe got two more titles for the Lakers. 2>1

But this topic has been discussed to death, so I'm not going to get into it.

But this topic has been discussed to death, so I'm not going to get into it. | Shaq showing up overweight during training camp was dumb on his part Kobe and the rest of the team had to carry the Lakers during the season. Shaq also being overweight caused nagging injuries that eventually lead him to retire. Shaq waited the whole summer until just before training camp for the surgery and explained, "I got hurt on company time, so I’ll heal on company time."
Kobe wasn't innocent either he was as much at fault, the whole ratting on Shaq during the police interview about paying off other women etc. Kobe also criticizing Shaq through the media rather than doing it in the locker room. People always remember that it was Kobe all alone that drove Shaq out of town like he was innocent. Shaq didn't leave Miami and Phoenix on a good note either.
If Malone wasn't injured, I thought the Lakers would've beat the Pistons in 04 and maybe Shaq and Kobe would've put their differences aside and come back to defend. Shaq gets all the credit for the 3 peat being Finals MVP but in 2000 Finals Lakers lost in game 3, Kobe was out with an ankle injury, Lakers would've lost game 4 as Shaq fouled out but Kobe was clutch in OT. Kobe haters claim Kobe was the Robin to Shaq's Batman but I thought they were more like Spiderman and The Hulk.

In other news Kobe's nose is broken probably caused by Wade's hard foul at the ASG. I wouldn't be surprised with a flagrant foul by Artest or Fisher on a Wade drive this Sunday.

It's not that easy to get an incredible athlete like him...What's unfortunate for him is that people are looking down upon him because he's more of a shoot-first PG, which seems stupid when you have arguably the best scorer in the league in Kevin Durant on your team. What people fail to realize is that he's playing out of position; he SHOULD be playing at SG.

Durant is too nice of a guy to create any problems, he is very down to earth and is always, and I mean ALWAYS downplaying anything the media tries to blow up between him and Westbrook.
So between those two guys, there is no egos like there was between Shaq and Kobe for example...
And nobody in the media has ever stepped on the fuckin court so none of them know what the mentality and actions of the people on the court really are all about, I personally get on my teammates hard if they're fcking up on the court and we argue we yell, and these guys are my best friends, brothers off the court....
BUT it's a whole different world on the court and it looks like something it really isn't, it's a lot of testosterone and competitiveness blowing up all around, and the media not only misunderstands it, but tries to make it into something that it isn't.
and yea Kobe has a nasal fracture

Not only is it disrespectful, but it can bring down a teammates confidence if you are getting it from a so-called "leader" on the team.

^ I hear ya, but that's the problem because the way you describe it is exactly how the media sees and reports it, that's not accurate though...
it's not yelling for the sake of yelling and cussing out your teammate, it's done in the sense of a wake up call, encouragement, push in the right direction, etc.... not like "hey you're a fcking idiot for trying that shot, or that was a stupid pass"
basically in the sense of "c'mon now, let's get it, I was open on that possesion, look for me next time" or whatever may be the case...
thats exactly what I do, I'll get in my teammates ear's but not their faces, but it's always gonna be positive, never put nobody down no matter how bad they're fcking up....
and yea I say during the game is definitely the place to do it, whether on the court or on the bench, because that's gametime, that's when it matters, and not when the game is over and there's nothing you can do about it, speak up while you can make an actual difference... imagine how many more shots Westbrook would be puttin up if the coach and his teammates didn't keep him in check during the game, damn I'm thinkin like 30 shots a game easy
but then again these are young kids in their early 20's, I remember I was way worse when I was their age, now in my late 20's you learn a lot of shit and grow up a lot handle things differently, give'em all a few years

ya bro I guess we're gonna have to disagree on this issue, talking behind closed doors like you're saying is obviously productive, no disagreement there. But my opinion is that people need to be nudged and things need to be figured out during the game just as much as they do after the game.
I got a very relevant story in regards to this since I just came off this bullshit the other week, and to me at least reaffirms how right I may be about this issue... My team just wrapped up our season the other week, we had only 2 losses the whole season, basically demolishing teams. And I been averaging 30ppg+ in roughly 30 mins of play per game, so we get to the finals playing a team we already beat by almost 20 earlier in the season...
and for whatever reason I happen to have only 1 teammate that day on the court, only 1 fcking guy looking to get me the ball.... We end up losing by 20 fucking points, I was a non factor the whole game and it had nothing to do with their defense, scored barely 10 points but I torched that same team for 36 on our prior meeting, and it had EVERYTHING to do with my team totally neglecting me the whole game for whatever still to me unknown reason..
But the issue there, and why I feel game time is the most important (but not the only) time to work shit out, well that whole damn game I didn't say a single word to any of my teammates about getting me the ball, even though I had every right too, it wasn't about selfishness and me wanting to get mine, it was about me helping out the team the same way I have all season, by scoring. And at the end of the game it was too damn late to talk, we lost the finals....
so yea damn right I'm gonna feel like I should have raised my voice during the game let my team know what the deal is, at least then something could have changed, can't do shit after the game... but off course this was the worst case scenario with the game being the finals... I quit that team the very next day btw, lol, fck that shit
Now think what could have happened if Durant got in Westbrooks ear more than he did during that playoff run, I think they could have calmed him down and gone past the Mavs, but Russ fcked it all up with shot selection..... and honestly if Westbrook is knuckle-headed enough to fck up what they have on that team, he will go down in history as one of the dumbest idiots in the NBA, because that team is absolutely scary and without a doubt are destined for a chip or two within the next few years. As LONG as Westbrook reigns in the testosterone, but who knows with Durant and Harden both being the passive nice guy hipsters they are, Westbrook just might see them as easy targets.

^ haven't read what you said, don't have time right now, will respond to it tomorrow, but b4 I hit the hay I just want to say this:
If Dwight doesn't get traded to NJ by the deadline, I'd put tonnes of money on D-Will signing with Dallas in the off-season. And if Dwight doesn't get traded at all by the deadline, I wouldn't be surprised if he followed Deron to Dallas.
Edit:
Okay, read what you said, and I think you've misunderstood what I said. I never said don't do it during the game; all I said is that it shouldn't be made visible to the public that you are absolutely destroying/cussing out your teammate. Talk to him in a timeout...You can get a message across to a teammate without absolutely embarrassing him in front of millions of people. So yeah, you absolutely should've said something during that game, you should've called a timeout and explained to your teammates, "hey I torched these guys for almost 40 last game, let me expose them first which will force them to collapse on me, thus opening up looks for you guys."
Hope that made sense.

^ yea I regret not speaking up, reason I didnt when I look back was it must've been a little bit of shock on my part, I just couldn't comprehend my team not giving me the ball when they been doing that the whole season.... once I realized that's exactly what happened it was too late...
like you said Dwight is gone and I think it's gonna be to NJ, now if they could work it so somehow they get to keep Humphries too, that would be pretty scary, Dwight and Hump as your front line....
I've always liked Morrow too, ever since I seen him drop 47 points in a summer league game few years back, I been following him, hopefully they start calling more plays for him
