Yeah I'm just excited.

two guards that avg around 20 shots a game plus a blooming Ilyasova and gooden.

They still need a solid big but they should have no problem making the playoffs.

bballguy 03-13-2012 10:32 PM

Lol, Knicks aren't even going to make playoffs now...Bucks starting line-up of Jennings, Ellis, Delfino/Dunleavy, Ersan, and Gooden is solid...Knicks are pathetic.

NLY 03-13-2012 10:35 PM

Too many egos on the team for the Knicks.

The team looks good on paper but the chemistry is out the window.

The Bucks will get murdered by any team with an inside presence lol

Jennings/Ellis aren't "defensive" minded guards to start.

They've been able to compete most of the time thus far against the teams with inside presence...check the scores; Gooden is an excellent defender and Ersan is often a beast on the boards....

The playoffs are going to be a grind with ellis/jennings/defino/mike d shooting from the perimeter. They will not be able to out rebound teams like orlando, bulls, philly, heat.

Oh no, playoffs are an entirely different story...fact of the matter is, the only teams that have a chance of making it out of the East are Miami, Chicago, and Boston....If New York makes the playoffs, they have an outside shot of making it out of the East simply because they have the talent to do so...Is it likely that they figure their shit out though? I would say no.

NLY 03-14-2012 12:01 AM

And that's the sad truth.

I'm excited to see young teams like Minnesota rebuild with talent and hopefully become a problem (like OKC) in a few years provided Rubio gets better.

bballguy 03-14-2012 12:03 AM

Yup, OKC has done a great job and Memphis has too. Nuggets are getting their as well.

NLY 03-14-2012 12:06 AM

Denver's organization after trading Melo for young talent : :fuckyea:

And they're still without Wilson Chandler!

bballguy 03-14-2012 12:17 AM

Chandler's agent has given the Nuggets a Friday deadline to come to agreement with Chandler for a long-term deal. The Nuggets would be absolutely stupid to not comply.

I wonder what will happen in NYC if they don't make it

The New York Post reported Wednesday that Carmelo Anthony would prefer to be traded in advance of the deadline.

Depending on how much you value the sources here, it's an interesting read, for whatever it's worth. This comes on the heels of a report from Chris Broussard that Mike D'Antoni has "lost the team." We're probably nearing a full-on media blitz by Anthony's people to frame the Knicks' struggles as anything but his fault.

EXCLUSIVE: Carmelo Anthony at odds with New York Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, plots exit: source - NYPOST.com

Melo's agent disputed the report that Melo wants to be traded calling the report "laughable." The odds of Melo leaving New York before the deadline are remote, but it's obvious that the team is heading in the wrong direction at the wrong time.

Supposed too, but he was traded afterwards to ATl for diaw and bell.

I am pretty sure he wanted that trade :suspicious:

Sir_Loin 03-14-2012 10:17 AM

D'antoni resigned as the coach of the Knicks, it was his last year on his contract.

wasabisashimi 03-14-2012 11:16 AM

Yeah. I wanna see Van Gundy hired to coach the Knicks again. The big question with this team is whether they have the heart to play hard nosed defense like the 90s Knicks. Remember Patrick Ewing protecting the basket with blocks and tough D?

-had a dream that Melo was playing good defense, grabbing rebounds like Dennis Rodman, and blocking shots. Of course, it's only a dream. :lawl:

Nueva York, I still believe! Knicks are headed into the post season this year!

bballguy 03-14-2012 01:55 PM

The Knicks either had to get rid of D'Antoni or Melo. It was simply a move that had to be done. They are not a good fit for each other in terms of basketball.

In other news, the Wolves, Lakers and Blazers are reportedly in serious discussions about a trade that would send Michael Beasley to L.A., Steve Blake to Portland, and Jamal Crawford to Minnesota.

There might be more pieces in play but these three players are the core of the deal, which multiple sources are reporting as close to done. At face value this seems like a rare trade that will help all three teams in reality.

Beasley would step into the Lakers' SF spot, Crawford would instantly become a reliable SG for the Wolves, and Blake would have the starting PG job back in Portland.

bballguy 03-14-2012 02:01 PM

Dwight Howard reportedly told his Magic teammates during a meeting on Wednesday that he is "all in" for this season - the implication is that he will opt-in for the final year of his contract, keeping him with the Magic through the 2012-13 season.

It's possible that Howard is being completely manipulative and will opt-out anyway, but it's more likely that he's giving Orlando more time to flow through the league for the best possible trade.

That said, he could still be shipped out in the next 24 hours, as he'll need to give the Magic some written proof of his intentions before they agree not to trade him.

Wish I could, but I have to miss both it and the potential 1st round match-up between the Canucks and Coyotes tonight due to having to study for a stupid physics midterm.

Jamal Crawford doesn't appear to be in uniform for the Blazers right now, signaling that a three-team trade between Portland, the Lakers and Timberwolves is probably close to being finalized.
